Tools and Hardware Reviews of JOSEPH ENTERPRISES #HH501-18 Oven GloveCustomer Review: Comments by a New Dad - Lousy Summary: 2 Stars
Lousy. I have no idea what products others have been reviewing. I read all the reviews, very impressive, and I made sure I bought a pair of these, and got them a week ago. Forget the high-tech nonsense, what a joke! These are no better than a cheap pair of pot holders or oven mitts. Sure, they cover your wrists, big deal. I took a tray of cookies I had baked with my daughter out of the oven, held it in one hand for about 7 seconds (literally) while I cleared some counter space, and I felt the tray start to get uncomfortably hot through the glove by the time I put it down. Mind you, I am talking about cookies at 350 degrees here. No way these things could hold anything really hot or anything for a long carry time without burning me. I am dumping them for garage use and getting something else. What a disappointment.
Customer Review: Definitely what I wanted Summary: 4 Stars
I have very sensitive hands due to a auto-immune problem, so the all the regular mitt-type pot holders didn't fit my needs. I finally go my Ove Gloves and now I don't have to worry about my fingers burning when I pick up a pan from the oven.
Customer Review: Does NOT work, Would NOT recommend! Summary: 2 Stars
This item gets a lot of very positive reviews, which just amazes me--the item is flop as far as I am concerened. I tested this for 20 minutes and quickly saw that it just does not work as advertised. This glove might protect you from feeling heat to around 350F, but it won't be for long! At around 450F, I felt the heat quickly and had to run the 15 feet to the counter to set the hot wok down. I thought I might drop it on the way--the heat really came through! I sincerely hope that no senior citizens or younger family members get a hold of this flop. I cringe when I think about delicate older and younger hands getting too hot....!
I consider this a complete waste of my $16, and wish I could get my money back!
Customer Review: Does what it says! Summary: 5 Stars
Now, don't think I've gone about and tested the heat resistant ability of the Ove Glove, but it does a great job helping me around my kitchen with hot pots and pans. My favorite part are the little rubber grippies!
Customer Review: Does what the claims says it does. Summary: 5 Stars
Great in the kitchen with taking things out of the oven, and handling hot pots and pans. But, the real test: lost electricity for four days, and had to use the wood burning stove for heating the house. Used the Ove glove to safely open and close the iron doors, and actually grab onto burning logs and turn them with my Ove glove covered hand inside the 500+ degree firebox. Got quite sooty, but it cleaned up well in the washing machine.
