I've had this glove for over a year, and I use it fairly regularly. But it's not much more than thick cloth. The blue, rubber parts can stand high heat temporarily. If you're just moving things in or out of the oven, this is fine. If you're handling something hot for any extended period of time (like the handle of a cast iron skillet that's been in the oven), then you'll quickly feel the heat through the glove. Many oven mitts or gloves are much bulkier, or don't have fingers, so in that sense this glove is pretty good. Your hand is fully mobile. But it's not a very high level of protection from heat.Customer Review: Love Ove Glove!

Works just as advertised! I have purchased a 2nd one and told my friends how much I like and use it. One of my great uses is for french frying or pan frying since it protects my had from oil pops and drips. The bulky oven mitts I had weren't nimble enough to handle a spatula or tongs. This is the only glove I have ever found where you can rest assured you will never burn your fingers again AND have the flexibility to
pick hot pans up securely. I believe the technology comes from a material used in firemens' clothing. This is my second pair and I will keep buying them. Trouble is the rest of the family think they are gardening gloves! Go for it - they are great.

I 100% agree that this is a flop. It's okay for the first few uses, but after that, I don't know WHAT happened (and I don't cook often), but I burned the heck out of my fingers while taking some broiled chicken out of the oven. The heat quickly set-in and I thought I'd drop the dish. It's like the silicone stripes (I'm assuming they're made from silicone) wear away after awhile and don't protect you. The item was ordered for Christmas with rush delivery and it NEVER arrived. Merchant claimed that it was delivered by the USP and I asked to see the evidence of delivery. They never did and I got my refund.
