Bought this box for my mom as an xmas gift, she has tons of jewelry so wanted to get something large and nice. She loved this! This is one of the largest boxes I could find and the price is amazing. You can fit earrings at the very top, rings below, and miscellaneous in the bottom two layers. Overall very satisfied with the jewelery box. Only complaints are:
1. Lid doesn't open far enough to use the mirror w/o squatting down to the level of the mirror.
2. Lid doesn't always want to stay open. Inner trays need to be pulled out to keep it from closing.
3. Hardware for pull out trays seem a bit unsturdy. So I'm just extra careful when I open these up. I do really like how these lay out to the sides so you can see everything.
4. I wish it had more necklace storage. The bottom drawer really can't hold very many pieces. I have 6-8 necklaces in there currently and don't see how I could add any more (and see what I have w/o taking each piece out).
Also, the wood is VERY red. The picture doesn't show just how red. I was tempted to send it back for that reason alone, but it's really a very beautiful jewelry box. I kept it for awhile and the color grew on me; so I decided to keep it.

The jewelry box was a gift for my wife and she's very pleased with it overall. Other reviewers have accurately described the key features, however there is one minor issue with the item. The upper lid does not open fully (past 90 degrees.) In fact, the lid has to be held open because it can't open far enough to stay up on it's own. It even has to be forcibly pushed to allow the little trays to open out. This shortcoming effectively renders that mirror on the underside of the lid useless. My wife doesn't mind this terribly much as it's such a nice item otherwise, but I find it irritating because, as I said, it was a gift. I communicated my concerns with the seller and they (very promptly) replied that this just happens to be how the boxes are made and there was nothing to be done. This jewelry box exceeded my expectations. It's the perfect size for a mid-size collection of jewelry, with a huge amount of space for rings and earrings, and a fair amount for necklaces and bracelets. It's finish is lovely and I have found the jewelry box to be extremely functional. The only problem with it is the fairly fragile moving parts that control the trays that fold out to provide more space. If one is careful it is fine, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it within reach of young children.
