This product and its reviewers promise a magical machine that removes most wrinkles with ease. I did not find this to be the case. Awkward to use and really requires the use of the Jiffy board (which costs an extra $100). Nearly impossible to remove wrinkles in cotton shirts. My Jiffy J-4000 arrived today and I immediately began testing the steamer.
My first problem is with the height of the pole, too short for my bad back.
The next thing to happen is the hose touched my leg leaving a red hot area.
The handle also gets very hot and after steaming five t-shirts, it was too hot to continue. It is definitely a big sturdy steamer. It is difficult to lift and empty the water tank. I will be sending it back and ordering a smaller model with insulation on the hose. You would not want to use this steamer around a small child.

I wish I had purchased a steamer before. This product is well made, easy to put together and simple to operate. If you've not used a steamer before it does take some getting used to...make sure you are making contact with the clothes! I would encourage anyone with a cashmere/sweater habit to invest in this steamer!Customer Review: Excellent but you need the steam board

I bought this since i was tired of ironing my husband's shirts. I did not attempt to iron pants since it never came out well.
Now things are different with the Jiffy 400M steamer. I can even leave a crease by touching the metal steam head on the clothes. But my husband says that it does not have the same feel as the ironed and starched shirts. I have tried to spray some starch on it before I spray, it is difficult since it is hanging free. I am ordering the jiffy steam board from [...] since I hope to improve on the shirts. I now do the pants with the steamer and the pants look like they have been drycleaned. I helps if it is once dry cleaned and I keep it up with the Jiffy.

My 12 year old Jiffy Steamer died, after a repair 7years ago. I decided to get another Jiffy and upgrade. The steamer works fine. My issue is that it takes at least 20 to 30 minutes to heat up. Wanted to steam a Pashmina at the last minute wasn't an option. I purchased a Home Touch Perfect Touch for my cousin for Christmas, loved it heats in 45 seconds. Came home, purchased the Home Touch, emptied the Jiffy and stored in closet.
