Customer Review: It does clean.... but it does leak!

I'm on the fence here with this product. One on hand it does a great job keeping the toilet bowl clean. On the other hand, it definitely leaks. Not right away but usually after you have to replace the refill.
Two places that it leaks:
- The cap. There is a black rubber gasket and you need to make sure that it provides a proper seal with you screw the cap on the unit
- Next to the intake port. Right next to the intake where you hook up the feeder hose there is (what looks like) a pressure relief mechanism with a black piece of rubber. If that rubber doesn't rise to the top of the cylinder -- then water is going to shoot out the top. Not a lot of water more like a spray.
So, I think they need to work on this a little more. Great idea but they need to come up with a design that isn't so prone to leaking.

Works as advertised and keeps your bowl clean. But I couldn't stand the bleach smell from the unit. After a couple of weeks I disconnected it...Customer Review: It's leaky clean!

PROS: Easy to install. Clean smell in bathroom. Prevents rust or other water-type stains from appearing in toilet.
CONS: It doesn't necessarily prevent our own stains that we cause and using this product does not mean you'll never have to clean your toilet. Occasionally, you'll need to clean your toilet, but honestly... it's not that bad. Once in a while, I may need to swish around a disposible Clorox Toilet Wand and that's it... no biggie. The BIG CON for me is that the unit can leak. I see other reveiwers have stated the same problem. So far, my leaks have been no more than small drips that are contained inside the toilet tank, so it's not a major deal. The problem is that the tiny, cheap rubber gasket on the unit can easily stretch out of shape each time you open & close the unit (when you use refills).
I like this product enough that I've used it for a good while now. I'll buy a kit, then later, a refill. After the refill is used up, I buy another whole kit (so the little unit has a brand new, tight gasket). I also like it enough to rate it four stars. If the manufacturer finds a better way to change cartridges without wearing out the seal, I would easily rate it five stars.
UPDATE 03/10/08.
I don't see where I can change my star rating. I'd like to drop it down to three stars. Previously, I've been able to use the original cartridge and then the 2nd one (refill) as well before the unit would start to leak. Well, I installed a whole new kit today and it is leaking badly... right from the start! I'm still using it because the leak is contained within the tank. The majority of the "solution" is still going where it is suppose to.
The reason I still award three stars is because I feel the concept is good and the solution does what I expect. I really hope the manufacturer can correct the leaky container to make it a perfect product and continue to sell it in the future.

This works great keeps rust and hard water stains from forming in the bowl.
I still disinfect the toilet but I never have to worry about unsightly
rust stains, if someone just stops over.

My husband bought this product and we tried it, however it doesn't clean like it advertises it does, I wasn't looking to not clean my toilet for three months, that's unrealistic, but I was looking to stop cleaning every three days. This didn't help me with that at all. They are expensive for the lack of cleaning power and to top it all off, they have a rancid sewer smell, I couldn't figure out why my bathroom stunk, I cleaned, bleached, sprayed all to no avail, then my mom mentioned that she tried this product and it made her bathroom stink! So I promptly removed mine, and viola! No more stinky bathroom! I would not recommend this at all, I continue to buy old faithful, the clorox drop in's.
