This silicone coated ironing board pad makes ironing easier. When I would use steam on a fabric ironing board cover, the garment would often cling to the cover, and I would spend extra time moving the garment around and smoothing it out. With a silicone covered pad, the garment slides easily on it and makes the task not quite so difficult. In addition, since it is scorch-resistant, there are no unsightly steam stains that are left behind. Nicely padded, great price, easy to put on, and I got a lovely gold/tan color. I like the silicone coated covers, but they usually require a separate pad, and the price for both was at least twice the price of this combination. This was a great find in any color, but I don't iron much so even purple speckles would have been okay, but I do like the gold.
