Customer Review: Can't rely on Kidde Extinguisher in fire

I received a Kidde fire extinguisher similar to this model a few years back, but didn't take it out of the box until we recently moved into our new house. Unfortunately, the meter indicated the extinguisher had no charge.
I contacted Kidde and told them about it, and they sent a replacement several weeks later. This is the model they sent, but unfortunately, its meter showed a low charge as well, and it had dust all over it and appeared to have possibly been used, or returned by someone else.
Given the fact that I've had two Kidde extinguishers, supposedly both brand new, and both either had no charge or lost their charge rapidly, I cannot rely on their products to protect me or my family in case of an emergency. I'm aware that safety devices like this should be checked regularly to make sure they work, but at the rate these lose their charge, they aren't worth their weight in air.
I contacted their customer service regarding this issue via phone and email, but never heard back. If they don't care enough about customer satisfaction to call back, and their products aren't reliable, how can I rely on them for the safety of me and my family? I can't, so I can't recommend this or any of their other home safety products.
