I called our fire department to see which one they recommended. They said that if you get a carbon monoxide detector make sure that it has a digital display that tells you the unit of carbon monoxide. This way if your alarm goes off, you will be able to tell what the level is and you can report it to them. You will be able to tell ASAP, if you need to get out immediately, or if you can wait until they arrive, etc. I know it costs a little more, but when it comes to your safety... Also, they reccomend that you get one for every level in your house. I purchased two of these detectors and am very happy with the operation. I would advise anyone that has a fire in their home such as a gas water heater, furnace to install at least one of these in your home. It,s cheap insurance and well worth the price.Customer Review: Co2 Detector

I'm replacing a similar 4 year old Kidde alarm without digital display that had started to generate repeated false alarms. CO alarm devices apparently have a fairly limited life. The digital display should help to confirm any future audible alarms. Batteries were included. Mounting holes matched the old unit. Very satisfied with the price.
