So far so good with this humidifier. I was looking for something that was low fuss, and with a decent capacity and output. Seems like this fits the bill. Simple enough that maintenance is easy. Filters and pads seem pretty cheap and available. The only drawbacks are the noise (pretty much a fan noise, and you'll get that with any evaporating humidifier) and it doesn't have a low water cutoff so keep an eye on it. Otherwise, a very good investment.Customer Review: A waste of money

I only ran this humidifier at night during sleep hours and in no less than two weeks the power switch stopped working. It wouldn't run on any speed. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Unfortunately, I had disposed of the box, otherwise it would be on its way back to the retailer.Customer Review: Be careful!

This humidifier worked great...when it worked properly. It has sprung a leak on us a couple times, luckily we noticed it as soon as we turned it on. Last night, we were not so lucky and about an hour after we had turned it on, I noticed the carpet all around it was SOAKED. There is a section underneath the refill window where two pieces of plastic come together...that is where the water would leak from. It was not every time we ran it, but after last night and it soaking our carpet, it is being returned! It was nice when it worked, especially nice feature to refill it from the top, but we clearly received a defective one! I have also wondered from the beginning whether we received a 'new' or returned humidifier...filter was not nice and white/clean!Customer Review: Best Humidifier! Buy it!

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this humidifier due to the fact that I had previously purchased two different humidifiers and both of them worked only 1 year. I had paid double the price for them as I did this humidifier. This humidifier works great! It is 10 times better than those I had bought previously. It is as quiet as I would expect and it outputs a lot of moisture into the air. It was exactly what I needed since I live in an environment where the air is very dry in my house in the winter months. I use this humidifier 24 hours/every day in the winter for 5 months straight and it doesn't miss a beat. I do recommend cleaning as recommended to keep it running smoothly. The items that need to be replaced frequently are very cheap and you can buy them directly through the company or here on amazon. Maintanance on your humidifier is a lot less expensive than buying a new one.Customer Review: Best I've Tried, But Do Be Careful When Refilling

We have tried several humidifiers in an effort to bring moisture into our son's room, especially during the winter months. This one absolutely works. We keep a gauge in his room to measure the temp and humidity, and although the air has gotten as dry as 15%, with this humidifier running, it maintains on average around 40%. This is a significant difference! This humidifier doesn't just keep saturating the air either. When it reaches a certain level, it backs off. On the driest nights, the humidifier will be close to being out of water in the morning, but on warmer nights, it will have more water in the morning.
It is also super easy to clean! The clear plastic bottom part is the easiest part to clean, but there are 2 other parts that you can also easily clean. With our last humidifier, I had to really poke my fingers in to wipe out slime. This humidifier doesn't even grow slime.
We are ordering another one of these for our bedroom. My only recommendation is to buy the filters directly from Lasko. I have tried ordering them online from amazon and keep getting the wrong ones for a steep price. So, I went directly to Lasko's website where they only cost a few dollars each (significant difference!).
Overall, after several humidifiers, this is the best, most efficient one. It doesn't make a lot of noise, and the lowest setting is all we need to keep the humidity at a comfortable level.
That said, it can leak on you if you're not careful. Just turn off the unit when refilling it, and make sure not to overfill it.
It really works!!
