First the bad news. Its not silent like others have claimed. Now the good news. Its not silent but very quiet. the squirrel cage design has been used in furnaces for a long time and for 2 good reasons. They are quiet and efficient. this thing moves some serious air for its size and noise output. side intakes allow for unusual placement where regular fans won't work. it is little bit bigger than it seems. check measurements.Customer Review: weight??

This cool little fan is well worth the price & it will fit perfectly on the corner of my desk at work. This fan is SUPER quiet on the low setting & quiet on the high setting. Looking forward to keeping cool at work in the summer months!
