Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 6410 Designer Series Oscillating Ceramic HeaterCustomer Review: Can't recommend it, folks Summary: 2 Stars
This oddity that advertises itself as a space heater has an effective heating radius of about two feet. You'll also notice it's described as "oscillating." Well, it has an oscillating range of about four inches, serious. As for its space age (?), design, ovoid and retro at the same time with that wrought iron base--please, make a unit that warms the room and forget the (confused) aesthetics. I'm giving it two stars because it DOES work if you place it about an arm's length away. But not because of anything else.
Customer Review: Cool Heater Summary: 5 Stars
This is a nifty little heater that kicks out alot of heat. It has a smart modern design and nice tan color. It oscillates a good range, adjustable theromostat with high and low heat settings. It keeps my whole room comfortable on cold days and nights.
Customer Review: Couldn't Believe It--Outstanding Product Summary: 5 Stars
We have a weekend cabin--unfinished--in Brehnam, Texas. Because the cabin is pier and beam, and lacks insulation, climate control is an issue in both the summer and winter. We went through probably a dozen heaters before trying this one. I was at the end of my rope, and the ONLY reason I gave this heater a shot is because of some of the reviews. The thing looks like a knick knack, and I couldn't imagine it working where some much more industrial-looking units had failed. Boy was I WRONG. It worked so well last winter that we bought another one this year--then we had to turn one off because it got too HOT (temp outside was in the 20s).
One thing to remember with any heater is that it must be size-appropriate for the room you are using it in. We use ours in the loft of our cabin, which is roughly 14'x16', with a barn roof that reaches about 7' in the middle.
We've found the thermostat to be hugely helpful in keeping us from overheating--set it at about 65 or 70 and we're good to go, even in freezing weather.
Customer Review: DONT BUY CORD GETS VERY HOT Summary: 1 Stars
DON'T BUY.... I GOT ONE OF THESE FIRST OF NOV. MY HUSBAND NOTICE WHEN HE WENT TO UNPLUG IT THE CORD GETS VERY HOT WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS.
DON'T BUY. TAKING MINE BACK OR SENDING IT BACK TO THE CO. I DIDN'T PURCHASE THIS ON AMAZON. JUST KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE USE THIS SITE AND I WANTED TO WARN YOU ABOUT THE CORD GETTING HOT.
Customer Review: Does it's job, and looks good to boot. Summary: 5 Stars
I have a small 900 sqft condo. I don't even have to turn on the heater at all. One unit warms up my entire living area rather well (about 550 sq feet). Outside temperature is at around the middle 40f's, and without it, the living area gets to about 60f. With it on at high, it gets to about a comfy 70f. It's actually rather quiet. That's one thing I didn't expect. Wow, Say goodbye to turning on the thermostat. It keeps my bedroom more than warm enough.
It has simple features. It doesn't have its own temperature gauge, so it can't turn off and on whenever it dips below a certain temperature. However, with my experience thus far, I found no need to even have such a feature.
The construction and quality is very good.
