Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 751320 Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

Customer Review: 3.5 stars
Summary: 4 Stars

Things I don't like about this heater:
* No display of current temperature
* Thermostat can only be set in 5 degree increments (65, 70, 75, etc)
* Timer mechanism is really just "delayed shutoff"

That said, the heat output is effective and it's an attractive design but the features are fairly mediocre. The remote is handy but how often do you need to get up and change the settings on your heater? I also thought the timer feature might be something where I could set it to do certain temperatures during certain time periods (e.g., 65 when I'm not home, 70 when I am) but it's really just a "delayed shutoff", like you can set it to run for 7 hours and then shut off, which is of dubious usefulness.

Feature-wise, I like my Delonghi DFH480M better. If I could take the heat output from this heater and everything else from the Delonghi, it would be perfect.

Customer Review: A Fine Unit
Summary: 5 Stars

This heater was received promptly and in good condition.

The good:
- The controls are easy to reach, their use is intuitive and they provide all the functionality needed.
- The construction is solid. The case is well designed and the materials used are sturdy and of good quality.
- The heat output is impressive. This unit heats up a 10'x12'x12' (LxWxH) room in a few minutes - much faster than the Vornado I was using before.
- The form factor is very convenient. It provides a small footprint and delivers the heat over a fairly large frontal area.
- The oscillation is smooth and very quiet.
- The heating of the cord and connector is reasonably low compared to other units of similar power. I am not worried about the cord overheating.

The bad:
- Even after a couple of hours of running at max power in a well ventilated garage, it still lets off a slight electrical odor when I use it inside the house. It is not overwhelming but I do worry about the content of fumes from any electrical or plastic product I buy.

Overall I would buy it again or recommend it to a friend with the caveat on the slight odor.

Customer Review: A good heater
Summary: 4 Stars

This heater is perfect to fit in any room. It heats up right away and you can control it from the other side of the room with the little remote. One thing I found was that it sometimes turns off by itself after heating the room for 3-5 hours so that it can cool down for a little bit and then it turns back on 15 min later. You could always turn it back on though.

I have a centralized heating system, but my bedroom always was a little bit cooler than the rest of the house. I wanted a heater for night to keep the bedroom warm and automatically go of ann on. This heater does that job very well . Th only Bad thing about this is it is a little loud (Initially it was relly painful in th night. Right now I am used to it)

Doesn't oscillate much. Unit arrived as the delivery deadline day ended. Nothing great. A bit noisy. My room not really small so takes a long while to heat it.
