I have one of these heaters that I purchased last winter, and another one that I purchased this year because I liked last year's so much. I am a student and live in a one bedroom apartment, and I keep one of these in the living room and one of these in my bedroom. I set both to automatically turn on at 65 degrees, and don't use my electric heating at all throughout the winter, even here in Upstate NY. Each of these can sufficiently heat a 300-square foot space without a problem. My only complaint about this product is that it does not have a digital temperature control, as my ideal temperature is 68 degrees and this cannot be achieved (65 seems a little chilly and 70 is too hot). However, this is a good, effective heat source and I definitely recommend it.Customer Review: Awesome heater!

We bought this heater for our baby's room as we like to keep our house cold at night. It is great! We set the thermostat and it keeps the room at the correct temp. It is very quiet- (Our old space heater would kick on in the middle of the night and it would wake her up) and it heats the room quickly.
This is the third space heater I have bought, and I think it will be my last- we have no complaints.

I've had this Lasko heater for a few years now. This past month it started shutting off after a few minutes. I was just about to purchase a replacement when I decided to see if there was anything I could do to fix the problem.
When I looked at the back of the heater, the vents were completely clogged! 10 minutes of cleaning later and the Lasko runs good as new again!
I actually took the heater apart and cleaned the vents from the inside out with a thorough washing in the sink. Two of the eight screws are triangle head to keep you from taking the unit apart, but if you use a small enough Philips head, you can easily unscrew them.
After taking apart the heater, I understand why the heater kept shutting off. The temperature probe to monitor over-heating sits just in front of the vents. When the vents are clogged, the inside rapidly heats up because there is no air flow.
3 or 4 years later and the Lasko keeps on heating!

I bought this heater a few years ago. I used through part of one winter but got really tired of dealing with it's little quirks. The tiny lasko with the rotary thermostat works better in my opinion. This Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater has been in my closet most of the time. The thermostat on this tower is electronic and only allows you to set the desired temp in 5 degree increments. Also, the differential appears to be at least two degrees. So, let's say you want a comfortable lounging temperature of 67-68° and know that 65 is too cool to be comfortable. You would have to set the thermostat to 70°F. Even with it set at 70°, the unit does not stop blowing hot air until the room reaches about 72°-73°. So you end up being far too warm for part of the cycle. For some people this would not be an issue, but I can't comprehend why they went this route with the Thermostat. A simple rotary or slice control with 2° variations would be much preferred.
