We're having such a mild winter in my area (Southeast), I thought I'd try to save on the electric bill by just heating the living room at night with a space heater and turning off the central heat. My house is small, ~950 sq feet. I've used this Lasko Tower for the past month, and am appalled at how much power it draws. My electric usage went from 18 KWH per day to 34 KWH! At our power rates, that translates to $1.62 per day -- over $48 per month. For that cost I could almost run the central heat and warm the entire house.
It gets two stars instead of one only because it did keep the room fairly warm (with outside temps not below 38 degrees). But I'm ditching it and going with a lower-power reflective-type heater, like the Soleus.

Nos ha funcionado de maravilla, es bastante silencioso, el control remoto te evita el tener de levantarte en las madrugadas a encenderlo cuando está haciendo mucho frío.
Contras: no se puede utilizar solo como ventilador, siempre se activa la calefacción, el ventilador solo tiene una velocidad, sería genial el poder programarlo para que se encienda a una hora determinada (esta función no la tiene).
En resumen: funciona muy bien como calentador de una habitación de un tamaño bastante grande, produce poco ruido y la función de oscilación ayuda mucho a distribuir el aire caliente.

I bought this heater to replace one that used up to much electricity. I love the fact that the auto thermostat keeps it comfortable in my living room. The auto timer is also convenient when you don't always remember to shut it off before leaving the house...I would definitely recommend this as an inexpensive but great heating source.Customer Review: Excellent heater - after 4 years, definitely worth the money

I've had this heater for four years and I'm absolutely happy with it and recommend it to everyone looking for a reliable, quiet and efficient space heater. For the $50 I spent on it it's hands down the best heater I've ever bought. For the price it has a decent fan to push the heat into the room and has great features like occilation, temp settings, and/or a timer feature. It even comes with a remote and a clever little holster for it that clips to the back. Bravo.
