About a year before I bought this space heater, I had been going through Amazon, trying to find a heater for my fairly spacious room. That time around, I ended up trying an oil-filled radiator, which failed miserably to provide any heat to my room - I ended up sticking with my parabolic heater that year. Having moved to Seattle, the winters get even worse here than in the Bay Area, and my parabolic heater was too large to use in my smaller space. I decided to give the Lasko a shot, and to my delight, it worked wonderfully, heating up my bathroom incredibly quickly, and doing a fairly good job of heating up my living room (about 300 sq ft or so).
My only real complaint with this heater is that on the thermostat control, the first 1/4 or 1/3 or so of the dial is effectively useless - as far as I can tell, the heater will just shut off if you adjust the temperature too low. My guess is that if the heater is too hot, and unable to output heat at that much lower temperature setting, it just shuts off to cool down. And, also, used in small spaces (like bathrooms), this heater does put out a bit of noise, but not unbearably so.

This heater arrived at my house and I was excited to replace my existing old heater. Immediately out of the box this PLASTIC heater had rattling parts on the inside. I am assuming something plastic broke on the inside. When I plugged it in it made nothing but noise and then started to smoke. I am guessing the fan motor is bad. I ORDER FROM AMAZON SO I DO NOT HAVE TO BUY CRAPPY ITEMS FROM WALMART. IT LOOKS AS THOUGH I WILL BE GOING TO GET A CRAPPY ITEM FROM WALMART BECAUSE THE CRAPPY ITEM I RECEIVED FROM AMAZON IS DEFECTIVE. I recently moved into a small home that had issues to say the least! My Heater was not allowed to be on until the owner made some repairs so I needed a quick and easy solution. I purchased this little guy and absolutely love it. Not only does it heat my master bedroom extremely well, it also was nothing more than a blip on my electric bill. Also, the single most important thing is that you can touch the screen on the front of it even after weeks of use and it is not hot to the touch! I highly recommend this product for it's ease of use, safety and overall quality!Customer Review: Best little heater ever !

Absolutly love this heater, I bought it because I needed to keep the downstairs of my loft apt. warm. I have central air and heat in my apt. but to keep the upper part at the right temp. the downstairs was always chilly. This heater works great, with the adjustable themostat I could set it were now the living/dining area stays warm. Since I take care of my grandson at nights I no longer worry about it being too cold for him. In fact it has done such a good job that I rarely have to turn on the central heat. Since heat rises as it warms the downstairs it also is keeping the upper loft area at a comfortable temp..
