Tools and Hardware Reviews of Lasko 754200 Ceramic Heater with Adjustable ThermostatCustomer Review: Best one I own Summary: 5 Stars
We have a total of five different brands of these fan driven, 1500W ceramic type heaters, and I would replace them all with this one I bought from Amazon. All put out a lot of heat, have good thermostats, are reliable with a lot of use... Why this one, it's quiet! The others are louder, and some a LOT louder. Only sight dig would be when the room is really cold, the motor seems very sluggish at star-up, but has never become an issue.
Price here at Amazon.com seems very reasonable, so combine it with some coffee, and have it shipped free. Really can add much more about something as mundane as a heater, but I'm happy with my quiet, mundane heater.
P.S. Lasko makes great floor fans too!
Customer Review: Better than expected Summary: 5 Stars
I wasn't expecting much, given the price and size of the unit, but this thing puts out a lot of heat. Very happy with the purchase.
Customer Review: Big heat from little Footprint Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these for my two-bedroom apartment in Cleveland. It gets C-O-L-D here, folks!
This unit takes the chill out of the air in a few minutes, but doesn't over-heat the surface it's on. I put them on the linoleum, on the carpet, on end-tables. With both units on medium, I can get the livingroom, diningroom, and kitchen up to 68 degrees in just about an hour - with outside temps in the 40's, and a drafty, century-old building!
They are fairly quiet, considering the heat they put out, and I appreciate the safety features, since I'm always walking into them and knocking them over with my giant feet. They just shut down until I set them upright again. Nice, LONG cords on these puppies means I can get them anywhere with limited outlets. I'm looking forward to many toasty nights this winter, thanks to my Lasko heaters - WITHOUT running my gas-guzzling furnace!
Customer Review: Big performance at a small price Summary: 5 Stars
I'm very happy with this heater. It does a very good job for a low price. Some of the other reviewers were complaining because it never turns off and they had to unplug it. The light on the unit is nothing more than an small LED, which is wired in before the off switch. There are no additional converters etc. inside drawing voltage when it is turned off. The off switch permanently switches the unit off and the draw from the small LED,is probably less then 10mili amps.
I bought this fan to replace one I used in my 18 month old son's room which lacked a thermostat I wanted something that provided white noise and kept the temperature consistent in the winter. The problem I had is the fan does not run continuously. I.e. when the heater shuts down via the thermostat the fan shuts off as well. I opened the fan up and via some simple rewiring solved the problem such that in heat mode the fan will run continuously while the heating element will still turn off and on as desired.
The thermostat is also very sensitive, so it takes a little trial and error to get the temperature just right. If you lose patience with things such as this I would recommend that you get a heater with a digital thermostat. This heater though provides great bang for the buck.
Customer Review: Blew electric sockets Summary: 1 Stars
Bought 2 of these small space heaters. After using them almost 3 months, each one caused electrical sockets to blow. One actually caused sparks at the plug.
