Customer Review: Best tool kit you can ever have

Leatherman has great products available but Micra is just the one everyone should have. Primarily because it is small enough to be used as a key-chain and good enough to be used as a tool on several small occasions.
For bigger knives you probably need a case and need a place to hook it up or keep it, but since micra can be used a part of key chain there is no storage issue.
I got Leatherman micra as a gift from my girlfriend several years ago and I thought it won't be very useful since it is so small. But I am surprised that I almost use it everyday for small daily activities.
I recommend this product as an item to own or to gift as well.
Customer Review: Better than a Squirt in some respects

It has "Posi-Stop" feature where the other handle prevents tools from folding back onto your fingers while working. Squirt tools open from the outside but leaves fingers exposed especially to the razor sharp blade (convenience vs. safety). Incidentally, inside opening tools "feature" probably results in less gunk from pocket to collect on the tools since tools are covered by the handle. Also tool can be used as a 5" ruler by lining up both handles end to end unlike the teeny 1.5" ruler on the Squirt. All stainless steel to resist nicks and scratches unlike the aluminum handles on the Squirt that will show its age in no time. Lighter than a Squirt (1.75oz vs 2oz). Only issue is the tweezer which is too narrow for any serious work. But then again you won't ever lose it since its attached to the tool. Finally you can pick up a Micra for about half the price of a Squirt. You decide!
EDIT: I've found a solution to the less than useful tweezers on the Micra. I took the removable tweezers from my Victorinox Classic (which was repalced by the Micra) and cut off the end just enough to fit within the built-in Micra tweezer. So now my micra tweezers basically act as a holder for the "new & improved" removable Classic tweezers. ;) I'll upload a pic when I can.
Customer Review: Better than a Swiss army knife

I keep losing these at airports since I regularly carry this in my pocket w/o thinking. However, I keep replacing it because I would want to be w/o it. Uses for this always seem to pop up unexpectly (ie, bottle opener, scissors, micro screw driver). It folds compactly and smoothly with no edges to snag in your pocket.
It was one os the best gifts ever given to me.

I am reviewing my leatherman micra after having owned and used it daily for the last 18 months. This is one of the few things I own that is truly indispensable. I'd rather be without my watch than my micra.
What I like...
1. Very solidly built, quality feel. Nothing has broken or loosened with constant use. I believe it has a lifetime warranty.
2. Compact size and light weight. 2-3/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide by 3/8 inch deep. It fits beautifully on a keychain or in a pocket.
3. Well-designed tools. The scissors work beautifully, even for fairly large cutting projects (my son used it for an entire cub scout project); the knife is sharp and strong, and the tweezers work exceptionally well. I have yet to find a screw this won't handle, even the teeny tiny ones that hold battery compartments closed. The nail file/cleaner works well for emergency touch-ups, though I wouldn't use it for an entire manicure. I like and use the ruler engraved on the side as well.
4. Little peek-aboo cut-outs let you see where the tools are without having to pull out 2 or 3 before you find what you're looking for (like a swiss army style knife)
5. Nothing actually detaches from this tool (tweezers and toothpicks), so nothing gets lost.
6. As a mom with young kids, I like that the tool closes tightly so no blades/tools can be pulled out without flipping the tool open...BUT
What I don't like:
1. Realistically, this tool would be much handier if the tools could be pulled out without unfolding the tool. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
Overall, I have never had a knife or multi-tool that I used and loved as much as my micra. Men, my husband bought this as a stocking stuffer -- I didn't know I needed it until I had it. It's a great gift! I doubt anyone would regret the purchase of this tool, even if they own and use similar tools from Leatherman or other companies. This is an exceptional product.

I purchased three of these tools as Christmas gifts and the guys were thrilled. You can't go wrong with a leatherman. And the deal I got through Amazon.com was too good to pass up.
