Tools and Hardware Reviews of Leatherman 830032 Blast Multitool with Leather SheathCustomer Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
This leatherman's tool rocks. I have a smaller/slimmer leatherman's and I love it too. The new "blast" is a bit bulkier, but it has locking blades which is a great feature. I recommend EVERY man have a leatherman's with them at all times.
Customer Review: Awesome tool Summary: 5 Stars
This thing is great, if you're like me you research everything before you buy it.
This thing is built tough as nails, Zytel is a chemical, heat, and abrasion resistant material and it's also used in the frames of the Smith & Wesson M&P model handgun, as well as cars and other heavy abuse items, it's tough, can take a ton of abuse and I prefer it over steel due to the loss of weight while carrying gear.
So far I've pried things open with it, cut cords, striped wires and abused the "eh" out of it.
As far as price goes, you never want to bring anything with you that you'll regret losing in the long run, the price and strength of this thing is incredible, whatever your MOS, I would highly recommend this over a steel one, as added Zytel means it does not collect heat as a solid metal one would.
Cheap, effective, strong physical integrity.
My only complaint is that the blade is on the inside of the tool requireing it to be opened, but then again this is a tool, not a fighting knife.
Customer Review: Best Leatherman yet. Summary: 4 Stars
I've had a Leatherman on my belt since 1993. I've still got my first one and it works fine, but when I saw the combination of bits on the Blast, I decided it was time to upgrade. The leather sheath that came with it, however, was garbage. It was a good half-inch too short for the tool. Fortunately, I bought the removable bit driver, which came with a nice Cordura sheath that is the right size for both the bit driver and the Blast. I really like the Blast. It is a great tool, but I wouldn't recommend buying it without the bit driver, for the sheath alone.
Customer Review: Blast Summary: 4 Stars
I had the skeletool before this one, which i enjoyed but it doesn't have enough features for my job. The Blast is still light enough, but packs a lot of features such as the metal file, scissors, and saw. I use this on and off the work site, since it has a beer opener. I am considering taking it on my next backpacking trip because of its light frame and life saving capabilities.
Customer Review: Broke twice under normal use, once new, once fixed under warranty. Summary: 1 Stars
The tab which secures and releases the tools snapped twice while I was closing the tool under normal use. It is a bad design. There is just a small hinge nub which broke. The tool is also very stiff to open and close. My previous Leatherman, a Wave several years old, was a dream until I lost it.I couldn't remember the model name and I bought this one instead. Despite others with good experience, mine is totally unsatisfactory.
