Tools and Hardware Reviews of Leatherman 830039 New Wave Multitool with Leather/Nylon Combination Sheath

Customer Review: All Around Awesome Tool!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought my Leatherman Wave off of Ebay for $42.00. Best deal I have found for this model. I love it. I have only had it for about a week now, and it has come in handy quite a few times already. I bought the 'Fuse' for my Grandpa for Christmas, which is also very nice, but I like the 'Wave' a lot better. The Blades are very easy to open, and are strategically placed on the outside, so you don't have to open the tool to use the knife, saw, etc. This feature definitely sets the Wave apart from every other Leatherman. Don't hesitate to purchase this handy tool, you will not be disappointed.

Customer Review: All I needed for most telco ISP duties.
Summary: 5 Stars

This thing does it all. It's a solid tool that is compartmentalized enough to last. If you work out of the office for an ISP, I don't know how you'd get along without this thing.

Customer Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

This is great. I bought it for my boyfriend and he now carries it everywhere. The tools are all extremely useful, and the knife, saw and scissors are all extremely sharp. The price here is also great because everywhere else I looked it was over $90.

Customer Review: Amazing Quality
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this item for my 12-year-old son and he loves it it. He says that it is exactly as described. Great for camping, fishing, and all manner of outdoor activities. He recommends this for all outdoor enthusiasts!

Customer Review: An amazing tool and investment.
Summary: 5 Stars

It is my pleasure to review this fine tool that has, in the last couple of months assisted me in a variety of ways. Leatherman's have, in a way, been a part of my family for some time. My father-in-law, a Research and Development Engineer and Carpenter, carries the original version of the Wave, and has so for some time. His enthusiasm for it inspired me to get one as well for work on our farm and other uses. According to my wife, his latest operation with it was this past weekend at a family camp outing where he used his Leatherman to cut the heel of her shoes out. He did this so that she could wear them without getting blisters while hiking Pikes Peak. Considering how hard shoes can be to cut through, this is amazing for a tool that has seen constant service for the past 10+ years. I've seen him use it to splice wiring, fencing projects, cutting PVC, and many more uses. It still works amazingly well.

I've used my Leatherman daily ever since I ordered it through Amazon a couple of months ago. My very first use for it was to repair some safety glasses with the small screwdriver that slips in and out of it's adapter. I did this not 5 minutes after I opened it. Other uses have been to hang up clothesline, clear out old barbed wire (the pliers worked very well on this I might add), trim Hedge trees (a considerable task given the density of Hedge) and to remove a valve stem from a mower tire to repair it (needle nose pliers).

I have only one complaint with this tool. The saw on it does not close smoothly. This is a miniscule problem though, and it is due to my constant use of the saw that this problem has occurred. Cutting at an awkward angle is not a good idea, but at times is hard to avoid. The saw still functions though and is EXTREMELY sharp. Types of wood I've experimented on are (Pine, Cedar, Hedge, Mulberry, Bushes, and many more).

As with all tools, care is an important thing to do with your Leatherman investment. Cleaning it is a breeze as it is stainless steel, and a little bit of elbow grease works magic on it. A wet rag is all you need as long as you thoroughly dry it. Dabbing a small bit of lubricating oil on the tools is a good idea to keep them water resistant and functioning smoothly.

Finally, you would do well to buy the pocket clip for it if you do not like having a holster on your hip. As soon as I bought mine, the clip keeps my Wave secure in my pocket and it's comfortable there. It's still easy to grab with Leather gloves on and is easy to relinquish from your pockets when the time comes for use.

My Leatherman accompanies me everywhere I go. It brings me great peace of mind to have it and I hope that yours will as well.
