Again, the sheath in the picture is ALL leather, and ONLY comes with item# 830037, NOT this one!! This item#- 830039 - comes with a bulky, ugly, hybridized, nylon-and-leather sheath like the "Leatherman (831102) Super Tool-300 Multitool with Premium Sheath"
The tool itself is top-of-the-line, not the sheath though. Spoils such a great thing too. I was very disappointed because I would have made a different decision or at least I would have known what I was getting, now there is no time to switch - it's a gift for a friend.
The item#830037 is sold here also, but no distinction is made between the two.

This is my 4th Leatherman and the 1st with outside blades. The quality of the New Wave is excellent and having access to the blades, file and saw without opening the tool is very useful. I work in construction and always have a Leatherman on my belt. Western Case makes an excellent, compact, nylon belt clip case for medium size Leatherman tools.Customer Review: Best Leatherman so far

I have been using Leatherman multitools since 1984 as a Seaman in the Coast Guard and in my opinion, this is the best so far with the exception of the eyeglasses flat tip screw driver in place of the small flat tip on the Wave 1. I used the small flat tip every day to adjust the small terminal screws on circuit board connections. The eyeglasses flat tip is to small for that application and the large flat tip is to big. That is my only complaint for this tool. For the average person not using the tool to tighten conections on circuit boards, it will meet or exceed all of your expectations.Customer Review: Best Multi Tool I Own IMO Superior to GERBER

This Leatherman has just about everything I need. The best feature is the 4 tools that open when the pliers are closed. It is a bit heavier than the others I own, but not too heavy. I own and use several other multi tools: Leatherman Crunch and Freestyle, as well as Gerber Original Multi Tool, Crucial, Suspension and Mini Suspension, and a Craftsman multi tool that has a needle-nose vise grip pliers on it(Kershaw A100c). The WAVE fills all the gaps that these tools leave open, as I have never really found a good use for the vise grips, and the Gerber tools are not as sturdy and most are now made in CHINA. Also, one handed opening is not a big deal to me. I bought the pocket clip and lanyard ring, and plan on buying the bit sets and extension as well. This is just a well made and well thought out tool. If it holds up to the medium duty use i put most of my knives and tools to, I will probably have this for the rest of my life. My only gripe is the phillips head is still a "cross driver" albeit the best one I have seen yet. It is my understanding that this can be remedied by buying an adapter, so maybe I will buy that
I ordered the Leather/Nylon combo sheath but Amazon sent me the all leather one. I liked it so much that I did not bother to send it back.
