Tools and Hardware Reviews of Leatherman 830846 Skeletool MultitoolCustomer Review: A more capable pocket knife Summary: 4 Stars
I wear this tool on my belt everyday subject to the rough and unforgiving environment of a warship. It is the unobtrusive carry method and small size that makes it perfect and likely to be on hand when a need arises. I think of it not as a multitool but a more capable pocket knife.
Customer Review: All flash & it works. Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using this at work for a week or so. I work in steel manufacturing & this tool comes in handy. I bought it mainly because it looks amazing, so it's not anything i would ever depend on. but it's nice to have a knife, pliers and a screwdriver handy. I normally use the "bottle opener/clip" to hook on my belt loop. It works really well & i can grab the tool quickly. Seems to be sturdy, but not industrial strength. It is nice for quick easy jobs.
Customer Review: Amazing Tool Summary: 5 Stars
Everything about this tool is great. The size, the options, the weight, etc. I was a little worried about the Phillips head screwdriver since as a computer tech, it would be one of the most used items. I had never used one of the flat style ones and thought it might not fit well. I was wrong, it fits perfectly in every screw I can find. Would definitely recommend and I have to several friends who have went out and bought one after seeing mine.
Customer Review: Amazing tool Summary: 4 Stars
This multi-tool is really amazing, I use it in my trekking and when I ride my mountain bike. The multi-tool allow me solve real problems in my trips.

Description of Tools and Comments:
Knife:
An excellent knife that is easy to quickly pull out, the knife holds a good edge and is located on the outside for convenience. It is very easy to take out, and it does not require opening the tool to use. If nothing else, this tool is a wonderful, sharp pocketknife.
Pliers:
As is stated earlier, the pliers are both needlenose and standard pliers, with the tips tapered so fine that it could easily be used to remove a splinter or thread a needle. Inside the base of the pliers are two more tools, a wire cutter and a hard wire cutter. These are very capable tools, and the hard wire cutters can cut through small nails with no trouble at all.
Bit Driver:
This is extremely handy and versatile. The two included bits satisfy any needs that the tool faced, helped by the fact that each bit has two heads. One is meant to be kept in an enclosed section in the handle, whereas the other is kept in a locking tip at the end of the handle. The ability to turn one half of the handle 90 degrees helped when faced with a tight screw. The black finish on the bits wears off rather quickly, though.
Carabiner/Bottle Opener:
This feature is very nice. The carabiner works well on its own, clipping easily and securely to anything from a belt loop to a backpack strap. The fact that can also open bottles is an added bonus. By putting the spring where they did, Leatherman ensured that any caps get clipped in, rather than flying off into the wilderness.
Conclusion:
The Skeletool is a very good tool that will do many day-to-day tasks, and is a useful EDC tool to slip in your pocket and forget about until you need it. I do feel, however, that a mere 7 functions barely qualifies it to carry the Leatherman name. There is a lot of potential for expansion. Four and a half out of five stars.
