So, I was shopping for a small utility/multi tool that I could put on my belt, and have handy wherever I go, mostly at work. I tend to borrow my friend's a lot while at work, and was noticing how it was very handy, but the only features we ever use are the screwdriver, pliers, and on occasion I borrow his knife. Never use the little saw blade, fingernail file, can opener (except for once) or the cork puller.
I also took note that most tools similar to his were pricey. However, I came across this one, which was both on the lower end of the price scale, and was a top of the line brand name. That, and it had all the tools I needed! The pliers, screwdriver, knife, and a bottle opener so I don;t have to use the one on my keychain all the time! (I like my Coca-Cola in the glass bottles). I thought it was a little too good to be true, and in places (Allsparetools website) it claims it is not going to ship until Spring of 2008 - so I was worried I would have to wait a month or two for it. However, it is shipping from Allsparetools already, because I got mine on March 8, 2008!
I took it out, and played with it thoroughly, and am impressed! Just over 4 inches long folded, a hair over 6 inches unfolded, and has a 2 1/2 inch blade! The knife is on the outside, so you do not have to unfold it to use it (works like a pocket knife) and it kind of locks/clips in the folded position, so it does not feel like it is going to manage to fold out and cut something when not in use! It has a very nice look, feels solid and rugged, yet is light as well. Also, it came with a 5 inch tall Nylon pouch so it will attach to my belt. The pouch keeps it in place firmly, and has a velcro flap. The screwdriver is not hard to fold out, it is actually the end of one of the handles, and has a strong clip to secure the bit in place. Also, I love the combo bottle-opener/clip!
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, and I think I am going to send for a few more! Finally, a tool made for me! No bloat, just a solid tool!

I've got an entire collection of multitools from Gerber, to the original leatherman, to Buck, to others in between and I have to say that this new skeletool is by far the best. Bought this multi-tool as a birthday gift for my husband and he is loving it! It's lighter than the bigger tools, and the carabiner clips onto a beltloop easily. He can't stop fiddling with it. Makes me smile.
His only wish is that the screwdriver bits were alternated with a phillips and a blade head on each bit with the sizes being on different bits. If that makes sense. All in all a very good buy and Leatherman is a quality product. I used to work in a retail knife store, and never had a single complaint about the company or their products.

This is my second leatherman product and I am impressed, I purchased the skeletool to replace my EDC pocket knife it is perfect and very high quality...The serated blade is also a huge plus. if you are in the market for a pocket knife replacement this is your best bet-If you want a tool with lots of features,get the super tool.
