I bought this without even looking at one in real life. I was a little apprehensive about the purchase but it looked too cool.
It showed up about 3 days after I bought it and I use it every day now. The CX has the better knife and still has a nice tip to it. Some knives break off when using them but not this one. It is a nice shape to save your hands a bit and looks very unique. It is basically a knife and pliers. The other bottle opener works good and the screw driver is alright but not for anything serious.

I must say I have never really liked multitools. I always stuck with my trusty single blade Kershaw knife (which I loved). I always used to find myself looking for pliers, wire cutters, screw drivers, etc so I decided to take another look at multitools when I came across the Skeletools in one of my Camping Life's. I got on the website and wow have multitools changed since I looked at them last. I used to hate them because you had to open it, get the knife blade out, close it, use the knife, unfold it again, and then fold it back up just to use the knife. I absolutely hated it. This tool definitely fixes that with the outside access blade. I am used to the spring assist on the Kershaws which is amazing for one hand use but I can still manage to get this open using just my thumb once you get used to it. Its fairly light considering all it has in it. I would definitely recommend getting the 40 bit accessory kit that does come in handy at times.
I guess Ill give one piece of advice in this review... Seriously think about if you are going to use the belt clip and bit driver! It takes up a little bit of room in your pocket but not a lot. Looking back I would almost buy the Freestyle CX (which is to be released in a week or two I believe) because I have never used the belt clip because its in my pocket all the time. This is definitely not a complaint whatsoever but for a little saved space and weight I would go with the Freestyle CX if you arent going to use the belt clip or screw driver. Trust me, you use the bit driver a lot less than you would think (depending on the person I suppose) but I've only needed it a time or two in the last month.

The Skeletool CX is an awesome multitool.
I've used it everyday since I got it.
It is much smaller than other multitools and only has the things you need. Pliers, knife, bottle opener, and screwdriver.
The pliers work great. They easily cut through barbed wire. The only problem I have with the pliers is they are not spring loaded and you have to open them up manually. It is no big deal though.
The knife is easily my favorite part of the skeletool. It comes EXTREMELY SHARP. It is the perfect size.
The skeletool comes with 4 interchangable screwdriver bits. 2 flathead and 2 phillips. I haven't used them much, but at least one of them has fit every screw so far.
Last but not least is the bottle opener which works great.
The only other tool i wish it had on it is scissors, but its no big deal and I reccomend the Skeletool CX to anyone. You'll use it every day.
*Before you buy the Skeletool be sure to check out the Leatherman Freestyle which is basically exactly the same as the skeletool but smaller and a little cheaper!
Beware though!
The screwdriver bits fall out very easily! I have already lost one.

This thing never leaves my side. It's been clipped to my right pocked since the day I got it and I use it almost daily. The entire tool is extremely good quality and the blade was sharp as hell right out of the package. I have sharpened it once and it was very easy.
I have a classic Leatherman multi-tool that I've owned since I was a kid and I have to say that it is much stronger than this tool. However, this tool is designed to be small light and portable, the other one is heavy, dense, and cumbersome to use. Just know that it's not invincible, the pliers aren't designed to hold up to a lot of stress. I went camping last month and tried to use the pliers to bend a small tent stake. Without much force at all, the pliers snapped and one side broke completely off.
Fortunately ALL Leatherman tools have a 50 year warranty and they fixed it for free. I've had two tools repaired through their warranty service and both times have been incredibly pleasant experiences. They are kind and helpful when you call and they send your tool back in like-new condition in no time at all.
I love Leatherman tools and will never buy anything else.

I have 5 other leatherman products, all high quality. The skeletool is a fantastic addition to the line. The knife blade is a combo edge and extremely sharp. Great pliers and the bit driver is a wonderful addition (don't forget to buy the bit kit, which is sold seperately). Buy it, you will not regret the purchase.
