This is a very good accessory for the new Wave multitool. I have not used the lanyard ring (I will just use the built in ring) but I like the pocket clip very much.
It is very easy to attach, and I have had no issues or concerns with the clip detaching unexpectedly.
I can keep the clip attached to the tool when I am using the leather sheath, but the clip is very handy when I do not want to carry the sheath.
This is a big improvement over having the tool floating around in my pocket.

I have used the Leatherman SideClip for 5+ years. The clip was probably why I used my LeatherMan so much. Without a clip, you either have to dig for your tool deep in your pocket and wear holes in your pants or wear the bulky (but good quality) pouch suplied with the tool. The clip option, which I bought for the Wave, puts the tool in the same spot my Sideclip has resided for years. It accesses easily, keeps it close to your body, keeps it discrete, and lessens the posibility of losing it. The pouch is easy to catch on anything you walk by and sticks out like a sore thumb. I have had buddies with the pouch on their belt get denied entrace to establishments/concerts because they had a "weapon". A quick hand movement over the exposed clip has enabled me to go anywhere (minus airplanes) without being hassled.Customer Review: Good but temporary

These clips are terribly useful. They keep my multitool from wandering around in side my pocket, and can be removed in seconds if I want to use a holster instead. Unfortunately, the construction of them is poor. I'm now ordering my 3rd one due to the previous 2 having snapped at the upper bends. This is not from hard use, but one from hitting the floor (dropped from waist height), and the other from bumping into furniture.
For usefulness, a happy 5 stars. For durability, a measly 1 star. I'd recommend try 1. If you like/love it, go ahead and buy your 2nd one now!

This is an excellent accessory kit for the current Leatherman Wave,Charge and Surge multi tools, but FOR THOSE MODELS ONLY! These items do not fit any other Leatherman tool, yet I have several times received email ads from Amazon offering them as recommended items for my recently purchased Leatherman Juice S2 (love it, BTW.) There doesn't seem to be a way to get through to Amazon on this point, so be aware before you consider purchasing these accessories.Customer Review: Good ring, bad clip

I've had my wave for about five years and had a classic Leatherman for about ten before that. I've always loved the leather holsters but recently the snap on the holster for my wave gave up the ghost. Fortunate for me, I thought, that I had bought the lanyard ring and pocket clip set! I like the lanyard ring quite a bit--the quick-release functionality works really well and is superior to the well hidden lanyard ring already on the Wave. After the holster died, I decided to switch to the pocket clip--it's a pocket knife after all. Not three days after switching to the pocket clip (which takes the space of the lanyard ring so they can't be used simultaneously) I sat down, heard a "Sproing!" noise and felt the sharp points of my now broken pocket clip digging into my hip. I'll be sure to make use of the fairly generous 25 year warranty on Leatherman products but I don't think I'd recommend anyone buy this unless they just want the quick-release ring.
