Customer Review: Design and sturdiness are great, but it is not perfect

I love the design and layout of this desk. There is more desk area than I had thought when I ordered it. One big complaint - it smells bad out of the box (even a week later with a large air purifier in the room on full power - the room with the desk smells like chemicals).
The desk did arrive damaged (not Amazon's fault), but the manufacturer has so far ignored phone calls, so Amazon is dealing with the issue. Even with the damage, the desk is setup and functions ...well...like a desk should. I added the optional shelf to the top and some side shelves, bring the price higher than I wanted, but it does seem to make a great computer/video game/studying desk.
If you order the desk and it is damaged, contact Amazon. Forget about any attempt at customer support from the manufacturer - most of their products are no longer available, they appear to be on the precipice of going out of business.
Also, beware of the delivery company, CEVA. They like to call BEFORE 8:00 a.m. Amazon needs to work with a better company - one who understands that there are appropriate times to contact customers.
