It is very easy to install, and it retracts its clothesline easily. The problem is that it is very hard to make the clothesline tight so that your wet clothes would not drag on the ground. You do need to wrap the clothesline around the little arm on the unit in order to stop the clothesline from sagging. You have to wrap the clothesline around a little piece of plastic with one hand while trying to pull the clothesline real hard to make it as tight as possible with the other hand. I have not been successful with pulling my 40-feet clothesline tight enough so that a wet bathtowel does not touch the ground in the middle. The manufacturer needs to add some kind of a pulling devise to it.
