This is a nice item for using as a pass thru from a generator into a house or RV. I put this in a junction box in my outside wall and wired it to a newly installed standard stand alone 15 amp receptacle inside. ( do not wire to an existing inside receptacle ) Now I have no more wires coming thru my doors or windows.
Now I plug the extension cord from my generator directly into this enclosed male adapter and then plug my appliances inside my house into the new standard receptacle.
This unit looks professional on the ouside wall with the flush mount.
Doing it this way does not cause any electricity to feedback into your house wiring system. The inside receptacle is only wired to this male adapter as a pass thru from the generator.
