Tools and Hardware Reviews of Leviton IPP15-1LW Decora Manual-On Occupancy Sensor, Single Pole, 3-Way or More Applications, 180-Degree Field of View, WhiteCustomer Review: If installing 3-way consider this Summary: 4 Stars
This item works well as advertised, and the single-pole application is easy enough to install. I'm giving it less than five stars only for the lack of clarity in some of the instructions.
If you're installing it as a three-way, the instructions strongly imply that you need another Leviton product, specifically from the Vizia line, to work with it.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for Summary: 4 Stars
This device does exactly what I wanted, which is a manual or auto mode of operation. The only negative thing is that a common wire is required. Normally the common (white wire) goes directly to the load and not through the switch. I had to add the common wire and it was not that easy.
Customer Review: Pricy, but unique enough to warrant it Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased these for a bathroom & hallway in which my 'tween boys constantly leave the lights on. I like the fact that it cannot be left on indefinitely without occasional motion and it has to be turned on each time. It also acts as a timer in the bathroom -- I told my son who likes long showers, when the lights go out, his shower time is up. Very nice. For the hallway, which has 2 switches in 3-way, I had to buy another Leviton switch (the VZ0SR) to get it to work, but that wasn't a big deal. These are perfect if you want manual control each time vs. auto on, which these do not do. Leviton & Cooper both make cheaper versions for automatic-on functionality. Of course, their cheaper versions do not let you use CFLs, which have electronic ballasts, so you get what you pay for. I am running mostly CFLs with these two and they work perfectly. That is definitely a plus that pays you back for the extra $$ you will pay for these.
Customer Review: Spanish instructions Summary: 4 Stars
The switch works exactly as advertised. Once wired in it will detect motion almost a full 180 degrees around (probably closer to 170). It also has adjustments to narrow its field of view on either side independently and its sensitivity. You can set it to 15sec (for testing), 5, 15, or 30 minute on times. Installation couldn't have been easier and it's even compatible with 3 way switches (multiple switches for one light).
Two things lost this one star. First, you have to have the switch on. If you manually turn it off you have to manually turn it on again for it to work. Second, the instructions included were in spanish only. I'm guessing this was just a screw up when the one I got was packaged but it's sad when something bought in the USA doesn't even have english instructions in it.
Customer Review: Works but you need the Remote light switch too Summary: 4 Stars
I wanted this for the hallway which has compact flourescent bulbs and is connected to another switch down stairs. So you need this switch and the other switch too, which is a different part. You need the Remote Control switch which is IPP0R-1L. So you have to spend $fifty bucks not $25 and a cheap switch for a $2, which is what I was thinking I could do. So it works in that combination, CFL, 3-way, two different light switches.
