I have to read at night to fall asleep, but that's my problem. My husband's problem is the light being on. This solves his problem. The light really does illuminate the page and really nothing else. My only complaints are it scratches easily, sometimes distorts the words a little, and it's not too easy when you have to turn the page. I'd still buy it again though. It's the best thing out there for reading in the dark...Customer Review: I bought the big one for myself!

I saw the Light Wedge on Oprah. She was having a sleep expert explain all the best products for a relaxing bedroom. He said that the light wedge for far more beneficial for your reading that a harsh lamp. I gave my mother, my aunt, my two mothers-in-laws, and myself the light wedge of these for Christmas. The words just flow. Plus, I don't hear those sighs of sleeplessness from my dear husband while I read in bed! Love it.Customer Review: I have not found ANYTHING better than this...

I have tried itty bitty's, fancy space lights, and lights mounted to the headboard of my bed. This is by FAR the best book light I have found. It is a little cumbersome for small paperbacks but they have one for that too (maybe I will buy one one day). I take it on planes and it conveniently stays put in the book while in my bag. By the way...if you are like me and dont read directions, this goes ON TOP of the page.
Get it.

I bought the Lightwedge as a gift for someone. When she unwrapped it Christmas morning it was full of scratches all along the right side of the wedge so deep they impaired the book type along the book's spine. It was embarrassing to me but she overlooked it and thanked me for such an innovative gift. I was sorry I hadn't inspected the item prior to wrapping it, and even sorrier I had thrown out all of the Amazon literature to offer to return it for one without scratches. Maybe somehow this common complaint will end up getting to the manufacturer and it will result in better packing for shipment.
