From the other reviews I may have received a defective model. It didn't dim the light. It just caused it to flicker. Even at full off the light would still blink. I agree with everything in the other review as far as this being an indispensible item for new parents. I also used it to turn on the light for midnight feedings so I could keep it low and the baby would go back to sleep. The absolutely noiseless turn off on the dimmer made sure my daughter didn't wake up again at the end of the feeding.Customer Review: Excellent product!

It started when I purchased one of these, and I now have 8 of them throughout my home. Works perfectly when you've got a table lamp with 3 100 watt bulbs, but rarely require that much light. Backlit design is very nice, easy to locate in the dark. Little rubber feet keep it from sliding off the end table. These days $15 gets you nothing - what a surprise to find these bargains. Friends and relatives all ask about it when they see them, and agree.Customer Review: Great for bedside and the disabled.

I have one of these on the side of my bed for my lamp and for my infant son's room. Perfect for not blinding my husband! I also bought one for my disabled mother who cannot reach up to turn on a lamp. She adores it and it gives her a touch of independence! The only issue I have is there is a SLIGHT hum that emits from the unit when placed on a flat surface. I often have to place it on the side to reduce the noise.Customer Review: Great for the bedroom!!

I have a 3-month-old baby, our lamp is too bright and our night-light is too dim.
And I need the lights off to sleep.
When I turn off the lights my wife complains because she needs some light to change the diapers or to feed the baby and I did not want to go out and buy another new lamp with dimming functions and throw away a perfectly good lamp.
In this situation, this product is perfect!
Bright enough for the baby, dark enough for me to catch some z's.
The only add-on that I would like to request for is some sort of slot in the device so I can hang it on the wall with a thumb-tack. If it had that, I'd give it 5 stars.
