I had been looking for this kind of product for years, for my 220v electric baseboard wall heater in my basement.
I wanted Lux because I have a Lux thermostat for my central A/C, and this one has the same buttons and the controls look the same. It does indeed program and operate the same way, which is a plus. It's already intuitive to program and use, but it's nice not to have to learn how to program a different brand or type.
I expect this purchase will easily pay for itself by the end of this winter.

It is difficult to find a good thermostat for line voltage systems. Usually those of us stuck with these heaters either can use an inaccurate mechanical thermostat, or have to pay unreasonable prices for an electronic one.
Wiring on this unit is simple. Two wires are permanently attached to the thermostat, and two wire nuts are provided. It is made to install in a normal electrical box with the usual two screws (also included), so it can be easily used wherever a standard mechanical thermostat has been installed.
It comes in two pieces. One piece includes the relay, which protrudes back in to the electrical box a small distance. If there is a lot of other wiring in your box, you'll need to push it to the sides of the box, but it shouldn't be a problem. It takes up less space in the box than a wall switch. The other half is the actual thermostat, which connects to the relay with a couple of pins, and is powered by a pair of AA batteries. Also included is a wide trim plate, which can optionally be installed behind the thermostat, to cover up any uglyness you may have on the wall surrounding the electrical box.
I used this with a 240v wall heater, and it's worked wonderfully. The thermostat is fully programmable, with 4 time periods per day, as well as separate weekend/weekday schedules. If all of that doesn't appeal to you, just press the "hold" key and you can use it like a conventional thermostat. It is quite accurate, totally reliable, it keeps the temperature within 1 degree at all times. It doesn't seem to be affected by humidity or any of the things that influenced my previous mechanical thermostat.
The current setting is always displayed on the right portion of the display next to the up/down buttons; the right portion alternates between the actual room temperature and the current time. The 2 AA batteries are replaceable without removing the unit from the wall, although I have never had to replace them.
All in all, I highly recommend it. An excellent upgrade and far superior to old mechanical thermostats, and has all the important features of the more expensive models. However, as you can only program weekend/weekday schedules, it will not work well for people who do not keep a regular M-F work schedule. It also lacks a backlit display, so adjusting the temperature requires having the lights on.

Purchased 6 of these for the house we recently bought. It has ceiling heat, and the old dielectric thermostats were terrible. The Lux ELV1 has already made a huge difference. No more wild temperature swings. Still waiting for the first electric bill, but don't expect anywhere near the $400-$500 bills the previous owners payed last winter.

This thermostat works well and is by far the cheapest programmable thermostat for electric baseboard heaters out there. The price rivals most ordinary digital thermostat with no programmable functions at most big hardware stores. The only problem with this thermostat is that it is a single pole thermostat, So there will always be power to the heater all year round, (it does not turn off). You must shut off breaker to turn the heater and the thermostat completely off.
