This thermostat works great and looks great too. It has excellent programmable features and is very user friendly when it come to setting and programming it. (I really like the copy feature for duplicating settings on multiple days.) Once programmed you can pretty much just forget about ever setting your thermostat again. But, it is also easy to manually override your programs whenever needed. I really like the looks of this thermostat with the blue backlit screen. The touch screen works great. I really have no complaints at all about the thermostat and I am very happy with it. The reason for the four star rating is the instructions for wiring the thermostat are not that great. I think the instructions are fine for someone with experience with heating and AC systems. But for a first timer like me it took a little while to figure out the wiring. In fact, I had to search the internet to figure out the wiring of my old Honeywell thermostat I was replacing in order to match it up with this new one. Luckily I was able to find the wiring info I needed on the internet and was able to wire the new thermostat successfully. My suggestion for Lux is to include more detailed wiring information for those replacing the more common brands of thermostats to make hooking this up a little clearer. Other than that, I can't think of any thing else Lux could do to improve this thermostat.Customer Review: Awsum and Easy to Install

Having upgraded my thermostat a number of times I was skeptical in the easy of functioning. I'm a huge beliver that products should be intutive or they shouldn't be sold. My TiVo and Ipod/Iphone are excellent examples. While this isn't that well done, it is incredibly easy to manage. I hate to admit, that the backlight and large numbers are a huge plus for me to change the settings without having to find my glasses. It took me about 30 minutes for complete installation, including removing the old thermostat. I installed this
in a condo unit. Since everything was color coded, connecting the wires was quite easy. I purchased this item
after reading a review in [...]. It's the highest rating. You can't go wrong with this item. The display is large and the backlight is awesome.

I had a Honeywell RTH6499 and it was constantly cycling my heat pump on and off since there is no swing temperature adjustment. I watched the temperature range and it has a swing range of =/+ one half degree. I decided to replace it with the Lux and set the swing temperature range for +/- 1 degree and now the heat pump is cycling on and off as it should.Customer Review: Big Display, Easy to Read, Back Light, Touch Screen

What more do you need? Yes it is a tad confusing at first, and the "copy" function takes some figuring (or reading), but in the low light of night and without my glasses, I can still see and use this thermostat!
I just wish they made these things in some way that they don't stand out on a wall like a bad piece of art. Maybe a changeable faceplate? A picture hook on the front?
