I have bought LED flashlights since their entry into the market, and the Maglite LED upgrade module makes owning an LED flashlight really practical. Sure I have several smaller, powerful LED flashlights, but they all use Lithium CR-123 batteries that are very expensive. All that has changed with Maglite. Now it is possible to use an LED flashlight for extended periods of time without taking out a bank loan. I have tested my 3-cell Mag. for distance. I wasn't at all dissappointed, as it will throw a beam well in excess of 100 yards. The pure white light is a definite plus too. With white light the apparent brightness is greater with no affect on the true color of what is illuminated. The only downside I can see is the price, but, given the expected life of the LED and the decreased drain on batteries, I'd say that in the long run it will pay for itself. Buy one! You won't be dissappointed. Take it from one who knows LED flashlights.Customer Review: Outstanding product.

Just when I thought a Maglite could not possibly get any better, here came the LED upgrade module! This upgrade is well worth the money, and you will even make your money back in the long run because of its efficient use of power. The light output is outstanding, and mine even works with rechargeable batteries (some customers complained that theirs didn't). After using a smaller LED flashlight from Garrity, I really wanted to upgrade my 3 D cell Maglite. The batteries in the Garrity have lasted forever and the light quality has been impressive so I decided to spring for the Maglite upgrade. Looking on-line I started to panic because the Maglite upgrade was getting hard to obtain for some reason. Amazon no longer had it and other sites reported "Out of stock". I decided to stop at Home Depot and, to my surprise, they had the 3 D cell upgrade ( and others for 2D and 4D) on sale for $16. Needless to say I snatched one up. It's a great improvement in light quality and, based on my experience with the Garrity, I know my battery life will be outstanding. Don't hesitate to get the upgrade if you can find it.
