Customer Review: Versatile flashlight has many uses

This is by far the best flashlight I have ever used and I've had and still have many of assorted sizes, styles and shapes. It is also the heaviest flashlight I've ever used and that's not a bad thing. It won't fit in your pocket or lap top case but in a car or next to the bed, it can't be beat. On the other hand, should an invader move into your space, he/she can be beat-en by this hefty source of light. We've used it when the power has gone out, when searching for a diamond ring a neighbor lost when she threw a ball on the grass (we found it) and for seeing what was under a stove, sink and cable box, just to name a few instances where it's been superb. I've purchased rechargeable batteries for this and check them monthly, but also keep a supply of D Cell batteries on hand for times when it needs to be used for long periods. I'm still on the original bulb and enjoy the spare one stored in this housing. Now for additional uses -- I once was preparing a pie crust but could not find my rolling pin. Because I had used the flashlight in the kitchen the day before, I placed a clean plastic bag around the flashlight and while placing the bulb end of the flashlight over the edge of the counter top and not applying pressure near the on off button, used this as a rolling pin. It was amusing at first because the light kept going on and off with the pressure from the switch, but I corrected the pressure and was able to create a usable pie crust.Customer Review: You should have one of these...Maglite 4D LED

I'm a home user and wanted a heavy duty flashlight which would last me a long time plus have good performance.
I read the reviews of the maglite and felt it to be the one. True to the reviews, it is a good flashlight.
Not as heavy as I was worried about it being. The black hole in the middle of the focus really depends on how you have the rotatable head set. If you rotate it to it's most compact focus, it won't bother you.
it has a good grip in the center of the body and i'm happy that it is shock and water resistant(haven't tried that out as yet).
The only thing that bothers me is a faint clicking sound that comes from the body when I move the flashlight which might have to do with the batteries hitting the sides in the battery compartment...
Was shipped out on time too..
Certainly one of the better flashlights out there....

This light is not as bright nor works as well as a 3-D LED LIGHT. Very disappointed with the Maglite. I have one of the original 5 cell D lites and wont get rid of it. Why is the 3-D brighter thazn the 4-D Review: better then the original!!Summary: 5 Stars when I bought it back in nov of 2k9 it was for 28 bucks, none the less it is a mag-lite so well worth the current price. it gives off a ton of light, consumes less battery and is just as rugged as my older model I had!! get it and don't think twice!!

Product was excellent. I would pay the extra ten bucks and buy the package that comes with the LED light included. This thing is huge and I feel very safe camping or walking around the block at night with this thing. Very bright and sturdy.
