I've used the drill, the driver and the flashlight that come in this combo and I am very pleased with all of them. Unlike my old drill battery that was always dead when I needed it, this one stays charged for a long time and is very quickly recharged. The driver is good for driving stubborn bolts and screws. My only negative is that I would have liked to see a set of driver bits included or at least a Speed-LokŪ type quick connector. The case has slots for bits but only one screw driver bit was included. I use my craftsman Speed-LokŪ quick connector that allows the use of all my other screwdriver bits. This combo is a little more money but well worth it.Customer Review: A must have cordless combo

I bought this combo set as a do-it-yourselfer and can not be more satisfied. Both drills are very strog, light, and ergonomically correct. The light is very handy and bright. I have been using this kit for over 2 years now and haven't had a single problem with either unit. I have to admit that I have converted to using the impact driver for just about everything I do. All of my bits now are the quick connect so I don't have to worry about bring out the drill/driver. I am a professional handyman and use this impact driver everyday. I've had the same Ryobi drill/flash light combo for 14 years, and finally decided to replace it when the second set of batteries I've bought for it wouldn't keep a charge. I LOVE my new Makita set. It's a lot lighter even though it's 18V compared to my old 12V. The batteries charge in a hurry. I can't speak to how long they keep a charge, but I will say that I drilled 8 holes into cement for some 4 inch lag bolts when I was installing a large mount for an LCD TV, and in spite of doing some heavy duty work over around 2 hours, the battery didn't seem to lose any power. The moving parts operate very smoothly. The flash light is super bright. It's more like a spot light.
