Tools and Hardware Reviews of Marsh Allen 30052 Cast Iron Hibachi 10 by 18-Inch Charcoal Grill

Customer Review: Great item. exactly what I was looking for.
Summary: 5 Stars

Great item. Exactly what I was looking for to replace an old, broken hibachi I'd had for years.

Customer Review: Great litle grill, only minor issues
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased two of these Hibachi grills. One was for me, the other for a friend. Upon assembling the grill, I encountered what I thought was a problem. It's mentioned in a couple of other reviews. I tried to put the cooking grid support towers on per the instruction book. The instructions aren't very clear about how they are supposed to attach. I tried to attach them to the outside of the back but the holes didn't line up. Turns out that the were NOT incorrectly positioned. The support towers attach on the INSIDE of the back. Now, as to overall build quality, it's about what I expected. One tower leans back a bit too far, so I had to shim it up with a piece of steel wire. The cooking grates don't fit in the slots very well, but a little scraping and painting with black grill paint solves that.

A few reviewers complained about the paint on the handles getting too hot, or not being able to move the cooking grates because the handles were hot. This is Hibachi grilling, very high heat. You can create a temporary heat shield by forming an aluminum foil shield around the base of each handle. I always have a grill mitt handy to deal with the heat.

All-in-all, I am quite happy with the grill. I had forgotten how much fun using a Hibachi can be!

Customer Review: Great little grill
Summary: 5 Stars

I haven't been able to find a Hibachi grill in stores for years, so bought one on line. This is the best charcoal grill to use. Small, but if you're cooking for a crowd, heck, use two...or three.
You can lower the grates right on top of the coals for perfect steaks. You can raise or lower the grates easily to find just the right cooking temperature. Sturdy cast iron but be careful not to drop or the extended grate holders can break.
That's what happened to my last one.

Customer Review: Great space saver BBQ Grill
Summary: 3 Stars

Pros: It's cheap and economical! Portable and space saver.

Cons: Only good for small cooks. Takes time to heat/warm up. It cracked in one area of the overtop grill when I was grilling. Not sure how long it will last but need to take good care of it, if you want it to last longer.

Customer Review: Great travel BBQ!
Summary: 5 Stars

Great blast from the past (old enough to remember when hibachis were just about the only option to a built-in BBQ) and it travels well in an RV. Decent quality mfg.
