Tools and Hardware Reviews of Master Lock 265DCCSEN Dual-Function Security Bar

Customer Review: Great back-up
Summary: 5 Stars

We live out in the country and this is a great back-up to our dead-bolt. Very easy to adjust and just place tightly under door knob. Prevents anyone from kicking in door. Leaves us feeling more secure and is inexpensive and strongly made. Can also be used traveling when staying in motel rooms. Great product.

Customer Review: Great for Apartments
Summary: 5 Stars

For those people who live in an apartment where they're not allowed to modify the locks on their doors, or not allowed to add a security chain or other device, this will work for you. Easy to use, and I had my 6 foot tall son try to get in the door after we had it in place, and he couldn't budge it. A good security item at a reasonable price, and it works!

Customer Review: Great if all you need the the illusion of safety...
Summary: 1 Stars

I tested this product as soon as it arrived, I have tile floor and heavyduty solid wood door, the device was disabled (it broke) after just merely pushing on the door. The steel notch mechanism to adjust height is the products biggest weakness. This product is going back to amazon.

Customer Review: Great product
Summary: 5 Stars

As a crime prevention specialist I like to practice what I preach. I bought four of these, two for home use and two for my mother. One is for the front door the other for the slider. Easy to use and works great! I also try to bring one with me to Neighborhood Watch meetings to show an inexpensive way to be more secure!

Customer Review: Great product at a great price!
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this for extra security and peace of mind. I set it up with around a 65-to-70 degree or so angle to the door, which is more upright than the instructions suggest. I use it on a hardwood floor, which allows it to get a strong grip at its base. (If you use this on carpet, I think the grip would be more likely to move a bit as one tries to force the door open against it, but I have not tested this on carpet.) I tested it by trying to force the door open from the outside, and found that it was strongest at that more-upright angle vs. what's in the instructions. I was not able to force the door open with this device in place at that 65-to-70 degree angle, even though the door deadbolt was not locked during this test. I think this is a great product and a great value for some peace of mind.
