Bought this to lock up a media cabinet from my toddlers and within a couple days the plastic coating that coated the wire cable had stripped off. That said, it still works and does the job I bought it for. If you are buying this to lock up valuables it might not be the best option. It works well in an airport or train station to detere thefts but there are stronger locks available for true theft protection. This lock's cable is very thin but did the job I needed it to.Customer Review: Do not trust these locks with anything valuable

They are utterly worthless. I bought two of these to lock up my snowboard, but after playing around, I just threw them into the trash (unfortunately I'd thrown out the packaging, and with shipping it wasn't worth returning).
Even when locked, you can easily pop them open. Seriously, just push the button and wiggle and they pop open. Doesn't even take much effort. I don't know how they even allowed this product out the door.
Return them if you can. Throw them out if you can't. They're completely worthless.

Great lock - needed something to secure our cupboards because other products were not doing the job. This one does it tastefully, with nice colors against our white doors. Would not use these locks to secure anything but small items, and definitely not to hold down bicycles or other equipment.Customer Review: Don't Bother with This One

It's true, what others have written... so easy to open (break into) ! Just give the secured cable a good tug and "wa-la" it's open... They look cool and I love the idea of the flexibility... but it's not something you want to entrust you stuff with. I was disappointed with MasterLock for this one... Maybe the one I got was defective, but I can't help but wonder why a plastic latch piece (innards) was used... too easy to manipulate. Maybe if you wanted to keep a toddler out of something, but gee, the amount of force was minimal to gain an "unauthorized" unlock. Really, pass on this. Too bad. I really trusted MasterLock too.
