Checked out several reviews, focus on negetive ratings, before selecting this lock. Checked to see if the cable can be pulled out when locked. Mine is fine and have ordered another one for another camera I have.
Note: The key can only be removed when in lock position. Will not come out when unlocked. You can't walk away with the key if it is unlocked.
Problem with lock freezing up after long exposure to rain & snow. Cover with electrical tape or large rubber band for short term protection over the key hole.
Cable can be cut? I didn't cut mine to see. However, the gentleman that had to cut to cable to unsecure his canoe after the lock froze-up used limb trimmer and managed to cut the cable. Good news? If lock freezes-up atleast one can retrieve an expensive Trail Camera with a set of bolt-cutters at the expence of a $10 lock. Bad news!!! So can anyone else, I have not seen anyone wondering the woods with a pair of bolt-cutters in their "BAT MAN Utility Belt". They will have to makea special trip.

I use this lock to secure items to my motorcycle (jacket, helmet). The length allows me to secure mutliple jackets and helmets and gives me peace of mind they will be there when I get back to my bike. I would recommend this lock to anyone looking for a way to secure their items to their motorcycle.
