Customer Review: A Great Cheap Knife
Summary: 4 Stars
For those of you seeking an indestructible and flawless knife, keep looking. For those of you looking for a pretty decent knife without worrying about wasting money, this is your stop. I like to have a nice and reliable knife with me as often as possible, but I don't want to have to worry about treating the thing like glass because I don't want it to break.
The knife is very imposing. If you pull it out in a self-defense situation your opponent is going to be a little nervous because this thing looks sharp and is very large. The size of this knife can actually be a problem too, though. Because of the size of the knife, it may be illegal, but I'm not too sure. The blade is about 4 inches and the overall length is about 9-9.5 inches, plus the blade is fatter than most pocket knives measuring about 1.5-2 inches across.
Negatives:
-overall, the knife is large and may get you into trouble.
-the edge does not stay sharp. I mostly use it for cutting open boxes and I've found that the blade loses its edge fairly easily. It doesn't go dull, but it doesn't stay as sharp as it comes. So a sharpener will need to be invested in.
-the screw where the blade meets the handle gets loose from time to time and you'll need an allen wrench to tighten it back down.
-the lock doesn't always feel secure. You need to give it a strong flick to lock it good.
