The McCulloch MC1246 Portable 1500 Watt Steam Cleaner is exactly what they said it was, an excellent little steam cleaner that gets up dirt other cleaning methods do not and disinfects with serious heat as it cleans. It absolutely cleans really well and is very easy to use. We got dirt off of the grout on our ceramic tile floors that we never knew was there.Customer Review: I'm pleased

I wanted a steamer to clean wood floors and really clean the guest bedroom because some guests are allergic to our cat. The steam is quite hot. I'm sure if you were not careful, you could get scalded. However, the design was simple and easy to use once I stopped trying to fit the attachments over a nozzle, and got to the basic node of the machine. The floors seemed much cleaner to me, and quite unharmed by the moisture. I did wipe over after steaming. But I look forward to using this in spring cleaning and whenever I want to do a special job on the bathrooms or the kitchen. As others noted, the clean smell after is rewarding. My 'allergic to cats' guest remarked she needed less medication this visit.Customer Review: It doesn't maintain the heat of the steam

I've tried so hard to like this thing: It came from a reputable company, it was attractive and the price was right--IT STOPS THERE. The MC-1246's performance falls very short of its claimed reputation. First and foremost: IT DOES NOT MAINTAIN THE HEAT OF THE STEAM. For steam to be an effective cleaner,it must be superheated. Why do I know this? I literally put my hand in front of the nozzle to see for myself. Superheated steam would have scalded my hand with 1st degree burns but all I got was warm steam that you can very much tolerate. The steam is very much comparable to the steam you get when you are in the shower, warm but not hot. When you turn the power on, you will wait approximately 6 minutes for the boiler to heat the water and produce steam. It DOES produce super-heated steam BUT only for the first few seconds of use. As you further use it, the steam loses its effective "superheated" status. It creates a lot of pressure but the steam is not hot enough to truly produce the desired cleaning effect. I tried to clean the "baked-in" stain of the stove counter-top. It did clean it only because of the steel scrubber. The steam did not loosen the stain but came off after vigorously scrubbing it with the steel scrubber. Even when you let the MC-1246 sit for several minutes to fully heat the steam, what comes out after a few seconds is just warm steam. A lot of pressure but no superheated steam. Totally disappointed with the product not living up to its claim. Bought this in Amazon and is going back....very quickly.Customer Review: Pros and Cons

Ok this is not my first steam cleaner..... I have two small boys and decided when I was preg with my oldest that I was going to opt for chemical free cleaning. So I will break down the Pros and Cons as I see them.
Pros
It is easy to use.
attachments are easy to trade from one to another.
The Mop head has three settings a squeegee a brush and neutral very cool that it is all in one
It is very quite.
The trigger has a 'lock' option. You can lock it down for a continued stream of steam.
Cons
It comes with a brass wire brush
a synthetic brush
and a fine pointed attachment.
all of these pieces are SMALL the brushes are about the size of a nickel.
There is no way to lock the trigger while your waiting for the water to warm. Which is an issue for me as I have to small kids.
Also there are no wheels. So you either carry it or drag it along behind you.
I have also had issue of the trigger sticking. Which leaves it randomly shooting out stream.
There are no ways that I have found to order more attachments.
As I use this to clean everything it is a bit of an issue.
Over all it is a good machine and fairly priced. But IMO there is room for improvement.

After seeing an steam cleaing infomercial, I decided to try one this model to get rid of the dark line at the baseboard edge of my white carpets. It worked great. I then went on to trying it in our bathrooms, etc. I am now a steam cleaning nut. I do mirrors, windows, the entire bathrooms, floors, etc. My husband said he is afraid to go to sleep at night that I will steam clean him.
The unit works very nicely. It is a nice weight but sturdy. It has gotten quite a bit of use. I have had a problem with the trigger not depressing off and am in the process of contacting the company. But I am very excited about my new way of cleaning. Everyone should try it!
