Tools and Hardware Reviews of Milwaukee 2401-22 12-Volt Li-Ion Compact Driver KitCustomer Review: Almost perfect Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best driver I have owned yet. The battery lasts forever before it needs charging and it only takes 30 min to charge so you should never be without power. With a right angle drill attachment you can use this in almost any space possible. The only thing that could improve this is if it had a drill mode with higher RPM setting. It doesn't drill through metal very well but it's not designed for that but with an RPM increase it easily could. Great driver!
Customer Review: Amazing battery life and more... Summary: 4 Stars
I am a professional automotive and light truck mechanic. I specialize in electrical, electronic and driveability concerns. This puts me frequently in the driver's compartment removing dashes, consoles, door panels and more. Doing a heater core replacement on one of today's vehicles will involve usually between 4 to 12 hours of interior work. To this date on the first battery charge, I have performed 3 heater core replacements (two of which were 9 hour jobs), 4 door panel (regulator replacement) jobs, and countless other small jobs. My previous Makita was too big for the job and would have easily killed off its first battery pack in the middle of the first heater core job. This battery pack is still going.
The LED illumination has come in handy along with a love affair that has grown looking at the battery life indicator. It is now showing the last segment (of which has been on for the last week).
I have very large hands and yet I find that this "Sub-Compact" fits nicely.
The sliding direction control is at times in the wrong place and other times in the perfect place for tight quarters control. As of this time, I would not change a thing.
The power is very nice. I do not know if we can ever have enough power, but for the large number of automotive screws that I purchased this for, it is more than adequate. The variable speed control is also great. But once the screw is started, set the clutch and let it rip.
This little guy has made a mundane part of my job almost fun as I can now remove a large pile of screws in no time then turn around and run out of screws almost as fast as I can pick them up.
One side note is that with the power, one is tempted to try to break some fasteners loose that the body just will not take. I have felt the plastic body halves move a little too much in my hands when using the thing as a 12" breaker bar with a 10mm socket attached. Don't do this. The tool just wasn't designed for that...

Customer Review: An excellent value. Summary: 5 Stars
I am a general contractor and have been in the construction industry for more than 37 years. I own, and have owned and used tens-of-thousands of dollars worth of tools and been around long enough to have been a carpenter when cordless tools and chop saws did not exist. I own heavy-duty 18v hammer-drill that has been my single-purpose drill and screw gun and it serves me very well, but for about 90% of what I do (I use my tools almost entirely at home at this point), a smaller tool is more than adequate - but, were I still working as a carpenter I'd definitely want this tool with me at all times. I did not try out any other tools before I purchased this one and, I suppose there could be a better one for the money, but I doubt it - it is very light, but feels and looks well-made; it feels great in my hand and has no 'battery bulb' on the handle which is a real plus; it is incredibly quiet and it fooled me with the amount of power it has. There are many torque settings and the clutch seems very sensitive to its setting. Oh, and the 'headlight' may be unnecessary but I'm already wondering how I lived without one for so long - and to think I used to hang doors with a Yankee screwdriver (a muscle-powered, spiral shaft tool for you youngsters). No, I would not build a deck with it, but it will drive a 3" screw without protest. Even the case is decent, especially considering the price, which was $100 through good-old-no-tax-no-shipping-cost Amazon. Now that I have it I'd pay half-again as much for this tool, and for $100 it's a steal.
Customer Review: Awesome tool Summary: 5 Stars
Powerful enough to drive and drill. Battery life is good and the batteries charge quickly. I thought the light was a little much, but wouldn't you know, I have used it.
