JUST PURCHASED THIS NEW TOOL AND ITS ALL IT WAS SAID TO BE. ITS A VERY HANDY TOOL FOR THE HOMEOWNER AS IT IS COMPACT AND POWERFUL ENOUGH FOR JOBS AROUND THE HOUSE. IT COMES WITH A VERY RAPID CHARGER AND SPARE BATTERY AND I MUST SAY A VERY NICE CASE. IF THERE IS ONE DRAWBACK IT WOULD BE THAT THE HANDLE IS A LITTLE FAT, I COULD SEE IF SOMEONE HAD SMALL HANDS THEY MIGHT NOT LIKE THE FEEL OF THIS TOOL, OTHER THAN THAT THIS TOOL IS DEFINITELY A HOME RUN.Customer Review: Good Everyday Tool

I have used this tool several times a week since purchasing in mid 2008. The real test was installing over 100 ft of fencing which the gun handled just fine. Otherwise, I use the Milwaukee for primarily light duty work.
Pros:
-Easy to hold ... fits in your hand nicely with little to no fatique over long term usage.
-Powerful for a small 12V unit.
-Light comes in handy in reduced light work.
-Batteries hold their charge with repetitive driving of screws. Drilling will discharge any battery at a much faster rate ... this gun is no exception.
-Easy to change out bits
Cons:
-No place to store a second on-board bit. Only a problem if you have to switch between phillips and slot screws.
-The trigger just recently started giving me periodic problems ... gun quits working.
-Does not have the muscle to drive long screws (such as cabinet screws) at an acceptable rate or depth. but then, that's not the intention of this tool.
Aside from the current trigger problem I have been VERY happy with the Milwaukee.

For the size and performance its a good buy. My job requires me to use the tool take out and install sheet metal screws, so far I've found I can run the drill for about an 1-1.5 hr before the battery is depleted but sheet metal screws don't really require much torque. The .5 hr recharge on the lithium ion is great so when you run out of juice just grab the other battery and keep working.Customer Review: Good while it lasted!

I purchased this unit on September 2008 to replace a Dewalt DW920K-2 screw gun that has worked flawlessly for many years but was too heavy. I use a screw gun every day, all day and the weight was causing elbow problems. I've been through screw guns by Black & Decker, Singer, Sears, Dewalt, Bosch, etc. I'm going to wear out the gun, it is just a matter of how long it takes and did the thing do its job until its demise. The Milwaukee with its lighter Li-ion battery pack and LED worklight looked like a promising alternative. Within the first week one of the two high tech lithium batteries started showing a short fault in the fast charger. The battery still works but looses a charge faster. Within three months the screw gun developed the symptom of starting to turn slow about a quarter of the time when the trigger is squeezed. The batteries never held a huge charge and were good enough for one day of use when new. Now I can't make it through one day without swapping out battery packs. Returning the unit for "warranty evaluation" is on my dime. I guess they inspect to see if you abused the unit and then tell you what they might be willing to cover under warranty. I'll send it back and see what they do but I'm going to give this unit a BIG THUMBS DOWN. I'm back to the heavy but very reliable Dewalt for now and an elbow brace!
