This reel adapter was exactly what I needed for my access ID badge and keys that I use frequently at work. The reel is metal and smaller than the usual plastic reels. The cable is steel and not nylon. I have almost lost my badge and keys when using reels with nylon cords that break. This tiny steel cable should last a long time. Even the clip on the reel is more secure than usual and holds the reel tightly on your belt or clothes. I highly recommend this key-badge retractable reel.Customer Review: Bought two, one broke immediately. 2nd is working well so far.

Bought two so I would have a spare. One broke the first time I tried to use it and the second feels like it won't last too long.
Update: 3 months later and the 2nd one is still working fine. These appear to be a good deal for the money if you receive one that is not defective. Considering the price I am upgrading my one star rating to three.

At first I thought this was perfect. It is nice a small, has a sturdy clip and a cable that would never break. However, after a month or so I heard a snap and the cable wouldn't retract. I took it apart and found that the spool that the wire wraps around is plastic, and had snapped in two. Maybe mine was defective. But the clip broke off the back. Also it is in a fixed position. Otherwise seemed fine. Just can't tell as it was not usuable afte the clip came off.
