Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mr. Heater MRHF273400 Buddy Portable LP Gas Heater

Customer Review: Awesome little heater
Summary: 5 Stars

It outshined any heater I have used in the past. The temp. dropped to 35 degrees with a heavy frost and I stayed warm with it being set on low. My tent is a 9' x17'. It uses a 1 lb. propane tank every 5 hours, set on low. I will be purchasing the hose for the 20 lb propane tank.Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Indoor/Outdoor Heater - Model# MH9B

Customer Review: Back-up when the power goes out
Summary: 5 Stars

Very effective at quickly warming a cold house when the power goes out. Very efficient use propane. Cansisters willl last 4-6 hours depending on burn rate. It is a good purchase for the home emergency equipment. It is a good product.

Customer Review: Best Buddy
Summary: 5 Stars

First time I used the unit was in Oregon a few weeks past, and it did the trick. Within minutes my 11' x 14' tent went from a chilly 14 degrees to summer-like conditions. Literally, I was comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. Definitely will not leave home in the cold months without packing up this heater.

Customer Review: Best money I've spent
Summary: 5 Stars

We have a tent trailer with a wimpy propane furnace that puts out lots of air and little heat. After having "fixed" the furnace twice I gave up and purchased one of these. Since then we've camped in sub-freezing weather and our Buddy Heater has kept us warm and toasty. I usually have to set it on the low position at night lest we get too warm. What a great product.

Customer Review: Best solution with this heater
Summary: 3 Stars

Like many others, I have struggled with inconsistent operation of Mr. Heater. Trying all other solutions, I finally took the unit apart and replaced the thermocouple with a hardware store generic thermocouple. The unit has worked great ever since. I think the thermocouple is undersized for the valve. It does not have enough voltage to keep the safety valve open. This explains one of the most common problems: the pilot will not stay lit.
