Tools and Hardware Reviews of Mr. Heater MRHF273400 Buddy Portable LP Gas HeaterCustomer Review: Great heater maybe just not for tents with alot of ventilation Summary: 3 Stars
So I shopped around for a heater for some time to keep my girlfriend warm during a late fall camping trip. Admittedly my tent is really a two season tent. It has alot of mesh and thus wouldn't work all that well with this type of heater. The reason being that the heater basically heats the area directly in front and above it. I think if a reflector of some sort that could focus the heat all towards the front would make this heater much more practical.
When I stood in front of it while I changed I felt that it did a great job but my girlfriend lying on an air mattress directly in front of the heater couldn't really feel the heat. (I didn't want to keep the heater too close to the bed). If I had a tent with less mesh Perhaps it could have contained the heat in a better way.
I could definitely see how this heater would be excellent for heating sheds, garages or more rigid structures. It just didn't work as well as I thought in my type of tent.
Customer Review: Great heater! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a War Between The States reenactor, and bought this heater to keep me warm in my tent. It certainly does the job, and very efficiently. One canister of propane lasts the whole night. The unit itself is compact, so it doesn't take up a lot of room. One terrific safety feature shuts the heater down if it is bumped. It was a great investment!
Customer Review: Great little emergency heater Summary: 5 Stars
In our recent bit of windy weather here in the Pacific Northwest, a number of us found ourselves without power for several days. Without power, even those of us that had gas furnaces or pellet stoves found ourselves getting a bit chilly.
Fortunately, around my house, Mr. Heater came to the rescue.
No, it isn't big enough to keep my whole house toasty warm, but it was just enough to keep one room warm enough to be comfortable in a sweater, (even with a window cracked open for ventilation) and spelled the difference between being able to stay at home and having to try and find a hotel.
One bottle of propane lasted about six hours on the low setting. The heater is small, light and easy to store and the propane cylinders are available at any hardware store. (Coleman uses the same one for their propane lanterns.) They were smart enough to print the operating instructions right on the unit, knowing that most folks will not be able to find an instruction book when this would be most needed.
If you live in an area that even occasionally loses electric power, this is a must-have item.
Customer Review: Great little heater Summary: 5 Stars
Just as good as the great reviews I read. This little heater does the job in our van, when the outside temperature was below freezing, we were toasty warm inside. Just keep a window open a crack. The small bottle lasted 6 hours on low setting. I recommend it, so if you are thinking about it get it. You won't regret it.

This is a great little heater. Used it in my shooting house hunting this past weekend and it worked great. Really quite.
