Great work light for a rather small focused area. Works best in pitch black yet still has a more focused beam due to the led lights.
Does not light up a wide area such as part of small 13x10 room that already has a small amount of light spilling in very well, however, if the beam is positioned correctly it does make a small difference.
It is in fact built to resist a lot of abuse.

I needed a light for reading in the tub, and I considered all sorts of book lights, but wondered if they would slip off the magazine into the water. I found this cordless work light, and it works perfectly. It gives off a small circle of bright light surrounded by a large area of dimmer light--this was a surprise, but it works fine. Luckily I am able to hang the light on a towel bar on a door and aim it at my page. The light is very white, and it is perfect for the glossy pages of The New Yorker, which are troublesome for my old eyes. As a plus, the light can be used for other projects, and for emergencies. I'm very pleased with my choice. I did not want to worry about batteries, so cordless is perfect. So far, it seems to hold a charge very well.Customer Review: Good, but Could be Better

Great and bright light, if I had a right bracket the 60 leds is perfect as a bike light, bright and wide. Ac and 12 volt chargers. My complaint is, it is China made which was not mentioned on Amazon, and the charger made the battery hot, that should not happen with a good charger. So I do not know how long it will last. I, also could not get access to open it, it is glue shut. Very Bad!!!!!! All that brought it down two stars.Customer Review: Great Dog-Walking light

I needed a good flashlight for walking the dog at night. I wanted a bright area of light, LED for efficiency, and rechargeable so I can keep it ready by the back door. This product fit all of those needs perfectly.
The flashlight mode is a smaller set of 9 LEDs on the end of the stick. They have no focusing element, so the light is just a dimmer version with a smaller area. I don't find it useful.
The worklight mode lights up a nice, large area. Plenty of light to watch the dog and watch my own step in the dark.
The charger is just a loose cord that plugs into the base of the handle. The handle gets warm from the charging batteries, but not uncomfortably so. The handle also has a five-sided "pommel" below the light which effectively prevents the light from rolling away while sitting on a shelf.
Battery life claims 7-7.5 hours on a charge. I have not tested it beyond leaving it off the cord for a few nights with plenty of power for 10 minute walks. The batteries are Ni-MH and not NiCd, so they should be good for a long life with many charges.
