LED, so batteries will last almost forever. Great piece of mind for $6 ea. I was expecting a much larger flashlight when I ordered this. I've used it quite a bit for over a month and it still shines near as bright as when I first got it so I am pleased with that but I thought a 9 LED flashlight would be brighter. Not that it's not bright - it is - but not near as bright as the 20 LED flashlight I bought at the same time. I gave this light to my wife to carry in her purse. The light is great - she has used it several times since I gave it to her. The only complaint she has had is that the lanyard, that comes with the light, wore out the little hole that the lanyard is hooked through. I thought this would be a piece of junk considering the price. To my surprise this is a great flashlight. Plenty bright for its size and is much brighter than any of the small Maglites. I have only had it a month but I have already abused it many times and it is holding up great. This is coming from someone who is hard on everything he owns.Customer Review: They are CHEAP for a reason

At first I thought it was a great light, very bright, and well made. Until a day or two after having it, it starting switching itself off and shining in and out - instead of having a steady beam of light.
