Customer Review: Cheap Holster for Surfire Lights

I have a Surefire G2 that was given to me as a gift and I love the light. I even have a red filter cap installed and I recently purchased the LED upgrade. The only problem I had with the light is that I couldn't find a holster that would hold the light without having to take the filter lens on and off. It kind of blew my mind that Surefire wouldn't offer something like that (they really don't, I emailed their customer services twice).
So I was on the hunt for a flashlight holster for my G2 and stumbled across this offering from Nite Ize. Having used Nite Ize equipment before for my Mag-lites, I thought I'd give this holster a shot. Here's my evaluations thus far:
Pros:
- The G2 fit in the holster with the Red Fliter installed. No need to remove!
- The rotating clip is a pretty slick feature if you need to use both hands and don't have a headlamp available
- The actual clip itself is able to clip on and off your belt without having to remove your belt
- Construction seems very sturdy and rugged (high grade nylon, plastic, elastic)
- The holster holds the light very securely. No need to worry about it falling out.
Cons:
- The holster is a very tight fit on the G2. It's not bad taking the light out, but putting it back in the holster seems almost impossible. Hopefully continued use will stretch it out.
So a pretty solid holster if you're looking for a cheap soultion to your flashlight storage dilema. Also, they're probably available at a local big box hardware store if you don't want to wait for shipping. You'll have to pay a couple dollars extra though! Hope this helps.
