Tools and Hardware Reviews of Nite Ize SB234-03-11 S-Biner Stainless, 3-Pack

Customer Review: Useful Anywhere....
Summary: 5 Stars

Everyone should own a good supply of these S-clips, as I call them. They have an infinite variety of uses around the house, or away from it. I have carried them along on my hiking and camping trips for a good many years. You can easily attach a variety of carry along items to your belt or other gear, and they make securing a tent a cinch to not only anchor down, but release in a jiffy. Around the yard I use them to hang my bird feeders. They secure any feeder effortlessly, and as always with any use, some simple pressure on the clip releases it. No longer will it be necessary to untie and pull tight a guide line on your tent, hammock, or any other such item. Just unclasp and either add or subtract a clip and you are tight and secure. They are extremely strong, and you can easily use two or more together if a longer reach is necessary, as well as easily interchange sizes. All these clips are stainless and will stand up under the harshest conditions for many years with little wear to show for it. I have personally never had one fall apart or fail in any way.

Amazon makes it easy to stock up on the variety of sizes by offering free shipping on a bundle. I suggest you buy this handy three size which is very versatile in bulk, or package it together with other sizes to make the free shipping quota. You will pay the same price or cheaper than any local hardware store, and you won't even have to leave the comfort of your home to get your hands on them. One of the best and most versatile pieces of hardware you can have handy for the home, or on the trail... Recommended.

Customer Review: Useful in so many ways
Summary: 5 Stars

I got these S-Biners in several sizes to try them out for different uses. Truth is, I'd never seen this design before I stumbled upon them in Amazon (I don't camp, climb, etc.), and immediately saw how well thought out and potentially useful they could be. One of them, the #3, holds my GPS travel recorder (for photographic geotagging) to my belt loop. The #2 works great for my cell phone carrying case; the #4 for my water bottle. And on and on it goes: the uses for S-Biners seem to be endless. They seem to be well made -- I have them in black and stainless -- and, although the clip mechanism isn't hard, nothing has yet slipped off. These little biners have become an essential part of my kit, and I won't travel without them.

Customer Review: Work well, much better than carabiners
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to use carabiners for a variety of things but S-Biners work much better in most cases. The problem with standard carabiner is that everything is attached to the same "loop." For example, If you have a set of keys, and maybe other items, and then attach that to a backpack. When you open the standard carabiner, to remove it from the backpack, your keys or anything on it can fall off if you're not careful. Because s-biner have two separate attachment areas, all of you loose items can remain securely attached to the s-biner when you unclip it from your backpack, belt loop or whatever.

They seem very sturdy and I expect them to last a long time. It's very easy to clip and unclip things, even with one hand.
This particular set is nice. You can use the small ones to attach a small key ring to your belt. The large one can be used to join two larger items together, such as attaching a small camera bag to another bag.

The only downside with these is that they are more expensive that a carabiner. However, the extra cost is more than made up for by the convenience and ease of use.

Try these, you won't go back to the standard carabiner.

Customer Review: great clip for the price much better than the cheap aluminum ones
Summary: 4 Stars

great clip for the price much better than the cheap aluminum ones. Have not used them yet in a difficult (heavy situation) but they seem relatively strong and they seem to be made in a way where the elbow will not give way like the aluminum clips

Customer Review: love these clips!
Summary: 5 Stars

There are endless uses for them and they have held up to lots of use on my dive gear. They have only a few small rust stains in spite of frequent use in sea water. There is no sign of the metal deteriorating or flaking off just a few small brown spots. This is far better than most caribiners that seize up after a few months of use on my dive gear. They open easily which is good for my purposes but others have complained that they come open in pockets so it is something to consider.
